Len’s Hut has been completely hand built, here on their farm in Somerset by local craftsmen. Located in a south facing hay field, perched high up on the Mendip hills, nestling below Maesbury castle, it probably has one of the highest viewpoints in Somerset. With staggering views of the surrounding green countryside, including of course Glastonbury Tor, the Somerset levels, Black Down Hills and the Quantock hills in the far distance. Furnished to the finest standard, the decor of soft lines and enamel kitchenware casts you back into a simpler time and age. You can choose to light the wood burning stove and bring to boil the whistle blowing kettle for a brew. No compromise on modern living has been overseen, integral shower and flushing toilet, electric cooker, fridge and the benefit of electric central heating for you, oh and just in case you need it Wi-Fi is provided too; you can have the best of both eras. Step out from your shepherds hut on to the small veranda for Al Fresco breakfast and you can admire Len’s cast iron wheels, black tin roof and the oak feather board finish that blends so well to the countryside. Why not rest in the chairs or have a picnic on the grass, pick some herbs for dinner from Len's herb box; take time to read one of the many books to be found in the hut during your stay. Unique Eco Hot Tub Exclusively handmade, the Baltic bath tub is perfect to share a wood fired outdoor bathing experience, for a soak or to just unwind, whatever the weather. The stove gets the tub up to your preferred temperature quickly, whilst you pour out the fizz and chill, watching the sun go down and the stars come out. (Logs for hot tub use are inclusive of 1 bag per night booked) Roasting Marshmallows Enjoy the outdoors for much longer around the fire pit, cook up a bush craft meal, whilst telling stories and keeping toasty warm. Fire is a gathering point, Len’s barbecue fire pit is no exception in allowing you to find your inner ways. Perfect for either romantic breaks or just a well needed escape from the bustle of daily life, why not visit us here on our farm. More

We enjoyed a wonderful two night stay in the Shepherd Hut (Len). The hut has been beautifully built and furnished and is a fantastic, peaceful location. Everything we needed was in the hut and the owners were very friendly. We will definitely be visiting again!

About the neighbourhood
Location, location, location First of all, it’s a pretty special spot. Here you find, the unique, individual one and only Len’s Hut, surrounded by gorgeous green hay field with a small cider apple orchard behind the hut, just below one of the highest points on the Mendip Hills, facing south with stunning views across the unique landscape of the Somerset Levels, Glastonbury Tor and the distant Quantock Hills. Glorious isolation, but near your car if required, and 100 yards from the former farm house and farm buildings. Local attractions include Wells (England’s smallest cathedral city), Glastonbury (England’s hippiest town), Wookey Hole Caves and Cheddar Gorge, plus some great walking and cycling country with a wealth of quirky pubs and eateries
