We loved it. It was a privilege to stay in this gorgeous house, which had every amenity we needed. The communications with owner, Anna I, were top notch throughout the process. It is a perfect base for exploring York and I have already recommended it to anyone who'll listen.

Whistler House is a great choice for a family or group of friends looking to stay in the historic centre of York. It is well equipped and nicely furnished, and within easy walking distance of the railway station, the Minster and other York attractions.

About the neighbourhood
York is a walled city in northeast England that was founded by the ancient Romans. Its huge 13th-century Gothic cathedral, York Minster, has medieval stained glass and 2 functioning bell towers. The City Walls form a walkway on both sides of the River Ouse. The Shambles in York is a meandering, narrow medieval street, one of the most remarkably intact medieval streets in England and is a must for those looking for a unique shopping experience. The National Railway museum has the world's largest collection of train exhibits dating back over 300 years and is a fantastic family day out. The immediate area is surrounded by coffee shops, bars and restaurants, perfect for a city break!
