Region: The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
Town: At the mouth of the River Esk in North Yorkshire's Scarborough region sits the seaside town and port of Whitby. The area is perfectly positioned for visiting this stunning region of Yorkshire, and there are plenty of things to do there, so you can make the most of both the countryside and the seaside. There is something to do in this area for every interest and season, from the adjacent North York Moors to its Blue Flag beaches. Among its many attractions, Whitby has a beautiful ambience with meandering streets and obscure alleys that are home to a variety of restaurants and businesses. Visit the charming harbour and lighthouse to watch the sun go down, or go whale watching or on a coastal cruise to see the wildlife up close. To immerse yourself in history, ascend the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey or go to the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, which features a historical and anthropological display about Cook himself. Whitby has something for everyone with its wealth of recreational possibilities, opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, and plethora of seaside delights. Whitby is an ideal position for discovering all that Yorkshire has to offer. It is close to Robin Hood's Bay, which is full of historical attractions and picturesque sites, and is accessible from the thriving towns of Scarborough and Middlesbrough.

Superb apartment; cosy, clean, extremely comfortable and very well equipped. Just to note that the cooker has an induction hob, so my stove top coffee pot didn’t work.
It’s an excellent base from which to explore Whitby, being a 5-10 minute walk to the centre / harbour. Absolute bonus is the parking spot attached to the property! Highly recommended.
NB: my stat nav tried to send us the wrong way down Silver St when using property’s post code. Aimed for church on Belle Vue Ave and that worked a treat.
