Charming Lincoln cottage is privately situated within the grounds of Lincoln retreat. Lincoln cottage offers beautifully-furnished accommodation including a well-equipped kitchen, with separate utility, a bright sitting room with wood burner and dining area, along with one bedroom having a double bed. A put up bed is available on request. (there is a £30 charge for this.) French doors from the kitchen and sitting room lead you onto a large patio with furniture, this is a great spot for alfresco dining and barbecues in the summer sun. Views from Lincoln cottage and gardens overlook the canal and open fields, you can view Lincoln Cathedral, perched on top of the hill. This is spectacular when lit during the evening. Myself and my wife recently spent our wedding night here. It is a great location and the accommodation is superb. All the pictures and other reviews are correct! Debbie is a great host and makes you feel welcome to the site.

About the neighbourhood
Within a 5 minute walk from the rear of our properties you will find a breathtaking woodland area where you can soak up the serenity of a secret place called Boultham Mere The reserve lies within the City of Lincoln but it is a comparatively quiet and secluded sanctuary. It was excavated as a source of ballast for the construction of the railway. It has since matured into a most attractive lake with beds of reed and sedge, and emergent vegetation. There are mature trees and shrubs, mainly willow and sallow, flanking the railway. A hide overlooks the mere to the west of the reserve. The reserve attracts many wintering wildfowl, including teal, shoveler, goosander and goldeneye. There are also many breeding birds, including up to 20 pairs of both reed and sedge warblers, two pairs of great...
How to get there
Coming from Lincoln Centre along Skellingthorpe Road (B1378), you will see Hartsholme Park on your left hand side. After approximately 0.5miles on the right hand side you will see Burghley Road just after that and before the covered bus shelter turn right down onto Pig Lane to Lincoln Retreat. Coming from the A46 direction. Please exit Skellingthorpe Roundabout onto the B1378, (Skellingthorpe Road) follow this road for approximately 0.6miles. You will come to some traffic lights go through these and you will see a covered bus shelter on your left. Turn left onto Pig Lane to Lincoln Retreat.
