We booked park house for a week as we were attending a wedding at Askham Hall and then stayed to tour the lakes and surrounding area.
The house and surrounding area are beautiful and perfect for a family get together.
Perhaps a sign at the village X pointing to the house would help visitors find it !

Relaxing stay
We had a lovely relaxing stay at Park House. No traffic passing by. Only the cows and the swifts for company. The house is lovely and is tastfully decorated. It's big so if you are a large party of 8 there is still plenty of space for all. The surrounding area is beautiful and not far to travel to the lakes. If you want peace and tranquility then give Park House a go. The owners are friendly and very accommodating which is a bonus.

Excellent NewYear Break!
We stayed at the Park House over New Year for a family/friends break. The place is amazing. It's off the beaten track, around a 20 min drive from Penrith and set in the grounds of a family home/farm. Check-in was not til 4pm so we arrived as it was dark, but a family member directed us to where we needed to be. Upon entering the property we were amazed at how big it was, the photo's don't show the size of this place! The ground floor has a large hall, enough space to leave coats and boots after walking and has 2 large bedrooms and bathroom down a corridor off to the right. There's a walled garden at the back, which looks ideal in the summer for BBQ's! Up the staircase are the 2 en-suite bedrooms. One has a bathroom, the larger one at the end has a shower.(This bedroom is huge, prob 3 times bigger than the other en-suite room) Off to the left is the kitchen and dining room. This contains everything you will need for your stay...really well equipped. There's utility room at the side of the kitchen with washing facilities and a small W/C. Walking thru' the dining area brings you to the living room. We had more than enough space in here for 7 of us, there are great views from both sides and a cosy wood burning stove. There's a TV with surround sound, a DVD player with a stock of films to watch and HiFi system with plenty of CD's. There is Wifi available, good enough for browsing but not strong enough for streaming films. The driveway outside is large enough for a few cars and there is a shed with plenty of wood and kindling for burning. The whole place has central heating so you'll never get cold! We had a visit from the owners to check if everything was ok which was a nice touch and they were ok with a quick text if there was any issues (never had any by the way!). All in all it was a great break, we all loved it and can't wait to head back!...

Great family get together
What a fabulous place! Spacious and so well equipped and the local scenery was wonderful. It rained most of the time we were there but it didn't stop us enjoying the surrounding countryside and its only 30 minutes from the lakes. Great for families and children, all at a reasonable price.

Beautiful place
We have just returned from a lovely 3 night stay at Park House. The house itself and surroundings were a beautiful place to stay while visiting the Lake District. There were 4 adults and 4 children and we didn't feel cramped at all as the house is very spacious and the decor is very luxurious. The children all aged between 1 and 5 had lots of fun running around the garden and playing with the friendly dogs that live on the estate. I Would highly recommend this accommodation for anyone wishing to have a relaxing Lake District break.

Fabulous family weekend away
We have just enjoyed a three night break at Park Housr booked direct with the owner through Trip Advisor. This is a stunning cottage which is well equipped with everything you could need and more! Perfect for families with stair gate, cots, blankets and high chairs. The cottage is based on the owners land and is located in a beautiful setting. Our little boy loved the cows and horses and the two family dogs are very friendly. The owner is fabulous in relation to communication prior to and during our stay. We loved it and will return again. The photographs do not show the true size and beauty of this cottage.

The Eden Valley is a relatively unknown area, but is being discovered due to the popular Coast to Coast Cylce route and the famous scenic route up Hartside. At the top of Hartside you look out over the whole of the Eden Valley right over to the Lake District Fells. It is absolutely breathtaking and one not to be missed.
The uniqueness of the area enables you to get to the heart of the Lake District and be surrounded by beautiful fells and lakes or to venture to the lower valleys and experience the stunning farming landscape.
The beauty of the area is you can have hustle and bustle or complete tranquility both within a stones throw of each other.
