The Old School House is a listed property situated in the heart of the village. Formerly the home of the headmaster of the Old Grammar School next door which is now open to the pubic as a museum. The house is one of the grandest in the village. Used predominately as an elegant B&B it is has been opened up for self catering guests for selected weeks.

The porchway leads into a large entrance hall. To the left there is an attractive lounge with cosy woodburning stove, leather sofas, Flatscreen TV, freeview & DVD. The Old Schoolhouse is situated on the edge of the quaint village of Hawkshead which is on the quieter western side of Lake Windermere close to many interesting places to visit. Emma and Mark were very welcoming and courteous and nothing was too much trouble....More
