There are plenty of places to visit right on your doorstep such as the National Trust’s famous 17th-century Bridge House. It is just a short walk to Stock Ghyll Force from the centre of town, or head further afield to discover the beautiful Grasmere village, once home to William Wordsworth. Why not catch one of the Windermere Lake Cruises from the nearby Waterhead Terminal on Ambleside Pier, and enjoy a relaxing trip whilst taking in stunning views of the scenery surrounding Lake Windermere? The area provides excellent opportunities for activities such as walking and climbing – don’t forget your camera!
