Annie's Cottage is a chocolate box style characterful one bedroom cottage with many original features, and is able to sleep up to 3 guests with the addition of a portable bed in the bedroom. The cottage oozes charm with 3 foot thick deep set windows, beams and an inglenook fireplace in the sitting room still which still contains the original bakers oven. However it later became the quarters for the servant at Manston Court. The most recent addition to the cottage is the new bathroom on the ground floor between the downstairs sitting room and the up stairs bedroom. The lovely bath with the shower over the top can be remotely controlled even before you get in, controlling how warm the shower is and the flow of the water. A gorgeous mirror taking up almost the entire width of the wall is surrounded by lights, and has additional mood lighting underneath. It is turned on and off by hand movement underneath the mirror which senses the movement, and it also has a hidden shaver point at the side. The first floor bedroom is quirky and romantic, with sloping ceilings and bay windows. The comfortable king size bed and large walk in wardrobe gives this characterful and spacious bedroom a feel of luxury. The outside seating area is perfect for alfresco dining, or just unwinding after an exciting day out, and there is guaranteed parking outside the cottage making it perfect for whatever the weather is doing. At Christmas we even decorate the cottage before you arrive with lovely Christmas decorations, some even home made, to help you enjoy that lovely Christmassy feel. Annie's Cottage is located on the edge of the village of Manston, which is centrally located on the Isle of Thanet, surrounded by coastline. This sunny south eastern part of the English coast is well known for its lovely sandy beaches and historic coastal villages. It's a perfect place for a relaxing sea side holiday, or an energetic sporting one whichever you prefer. It's also perfectly located for a day trip to London or France, or if you prefer to shop or explore closer to home, the historic cities of Canterbury, Dover and Folkestone are only a 30 to 45 minute drive away. This part of the Kent coast is guaranteed to suit all tastes. In addition to Annie's Cottage, we have 2 other self catering holiday properties. Well Cottage which also has one bedroom and is able to sleep up to 4 adults, and The Chapel which is a very large 3 bedroom property which can accommodate up to 10 adults. Guests frequently hire all three properties for a family celebration or holiday, or just to be able to get together all in one place and have fun.More

About the neighbourhood
There are lots of free events during the year in Thanet, from Dickens Week in July and Folk Week in August both in Broadstairs, to international volley ball tournaments on the beach at Margate, just to mention a few. You can see exactly what's going on locally when you go to the Visit Thanet website. And for something quite spectacular you can even watch the Red Arrows do their air display at Margate from almost anywhere in Thanet, and if you don;t see them you can certainly hear them!
Getting around
We are located in a semi-rural area close to the coast, but on a country road, so a car is really useful. We also have a lot of private off street parking, so if you want to bring more than one car it shouldn't be a problem. From the listing you will be able to see the local train stations of which there are 3, however Ramsgate is the easiest to get to and slightly closer than the others which are located at Broadstairs and Margate. The bus route through the village only runs about once an hour, however you are able to park for free at Westwood Cross which is only 1 1/2 miles away, and the other side of Westwood Cross is the bus station which has 'the loop' and will take you all over Thanet.
