Rookyard Cottage is a newly built, eco-friendly, single storey cottage. It has a timber frame with recycled newspaper insulation, rainwater harvesting and solar heated water. Guests may use the owners’ private indoor heated swimming pool. It is called Rookyard Cottage because of the many rooks that are frequent visitors to the grounds of Valley Farm. The cottage has two bedrooms, a double and a twin each with an en-suite bathroom. One bathroom is equipped for use by disabled guests with a large walk-in shower and grab rails . The sitting/dining room has a vaulted timber ceiling and a modern, well equipped, kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. A log burning stove is backed up by full oil fired central heating. Guests have a south facing terrace with table, chairs and a barbeque and there is an acre field suitable for ball games, kite flying and fun, far away from the road. A country footpath leads across the fields to the small market town of Halesworth. The owners’ private indoor heated swimming pool is available to guests by individual arrangement at a small extra charge. There is parking for two cars. More

If it was not for one or two minor criticisms we would rate this as perfect. It is beautifully situated in a very peaceful position but very close to a nice town (Halesworth), and just 7.1/2 miles form the particularly pleasant seaside resort of Southwold....More
