Farmendon is a splendid, well-proportioned house which sits in the heart of Gunnerside, yet is a peaceful haven from the bustle of the village. Charmingly decorated, the house is refurbished and has masses of character. The house is remarkably spacious and is beautifully furnished with treasured antiques, lovingly polished by the owners! The large, south-facing lawned rear garden, backing on to the Methodist Chapel, has a suntrap patio and stunning views of the hills, whilst remaining extremely private. The hall has plenty of room for shoes and boots, and the living room looks out over the village to the grassy island with lovely flowers and rose arch. The kitchen is modern, with full-size dishwasher and fridge/freezer, and there is a washing machine and tumble dryer in what was the outside privy. Upstairs, the master bedroom, with a superkingsize bed (which can also be made into twin beds) has amazing views towards the hills, and overlooks the handsome Methodist chapel. The second bedroom is a roomy double, looking over the village and there is also a third single bedroom. The bathroom has a bath, separate large shower and basin, with the toilet separate (there is also a downstairs cloakroom). All bedlinen, and teatowels are included, but sorry, NOT personal towels (although we can hire you them if necessary). Really comfortable, with central heating to keep you warm on even the chilliest evenings, Farmendon has already proved extremely popular with families, couples and dogs! Whether you are here to ramble over the nearby hills, or to relax in the peace of the Dales, Farmendon is the perfect home to come to for a marvellous Yorkshire holiday! Swaledale is perfect for walking and cycling. It is the most northerly and most beautiful of the Yorkshire Dales and Gunnerside has lots of walks direct from the door. The area is outstandingly scenic!
