Imagine waking up to breath-taking views of the Scottish landscape ready for a day of exploring the surrounding glens before returning in the evenings to get cosy around the wood burning stove or watch the sun set from the terrace with a glass of wine in hand. Corriedow is set in a secluded rural spot in the sweeping hills of Dumfries and Galloway. The 360° views over three glens, The Shinnel, Scaur and Dalwhat and the dramatic Tynron Doon (an Iron Age hill fort) make it a magical holiday destination. The cottage was once used as shepherd's accommodation but after a recent renovation has been transformed into a contemporary yet cosy holiday home. The small village of Tynron is only 3 miles away from Corriedow, while a greater number of local amenities can be found at the nearby village of Moniaive (approximately 4 miles distance) and the small town of Thornhill (approximately 8 miles distance). Moniaive has two hotels, grocers/post office, café/bistro and an amazing Italian restaurant. Thornhill includes two hotels, a bakery, two supermarkets, butcher's shop, coffee shops, a florist and independent boutiques. This holiday at a glance Sleeps six guests.
