Enjoy the feeling of being miles away from anywhere, even though you’re just a 10 minute drive from the bustling village of Betws y Coed. Wake up to the sound of birdsong or lambs bleating in the fields. Step outside your door at night and gaze at the amazing display of stars in the dark Snowdonia sky. Take in your fill of clean, Welsh air and go home feeling completely relaxed and happy. Bythynnod Moel Yr Iwrch Cottages are fitted to a very high standard and stylishly combine modern conveniences such as under floor heating, power showers and flat screen TV’s, with more traditional features like original oak beams and slate flagstone floors. All our three cottages sleep 4 (& 1 infant under 2 yrs old) and we accept 2 well behaved dogs in each cottage by prior arrangement only (additional charge - please ask). Our cottages are located close to each other on our family farm - ideal for a large family get together where all 3 cottages can be let together (see listings for Hafod Iwrch and Stabal Iwrch). Ysgubor Iwrch Cottage - Ysgubor Iwrch cottage offers guests a luxurious base from which to enjoy a memorable holiday in Snowdonia, North Wales. Step inside the impressive front entrance into a bright and airy open plan kitchen, dining and living area. Kick your shoes off straight away to make the most of the toasty underfloor heating which runs throughout the building. Enjoy cooking delicious meals in this modern, well equipped kitchen. The sociable layout means the rest of the family can keep you company while they sit around the large hand crafted dining table. Throw the patio doors wide open on a sunny morning to enjoy a leisurely breakfast or brunch, taking in the views of the orchard and the fields beyond. Gather around the oak table for a family get together and enjoy an evening of playing board games – you’ll find a selection hidden away in the farmhouse kitchen dresser. Relax on the large leather sofa to enjoy a blazing log fire in the wood burning stove. There’s also a couple of comfy armchairs surrounding the fire and the flat screen TV – plenty of room for all the family to watch a film or just take in the comfort and warmth of a crackling fire. At the end of the day, retire upstairs to sleep in super comfy beds with crisp, white cotton bed linen. Large windows and skylights ensure that the bedrooms are nice and bright on winter mornings. Close the blackout blinds for lazy Summer lye-in’s. Enjoy the invigorating rain shower in the en-suite bathroom or, if a long soak in the bath is more your thing, choose the second bathroom along the landing. Home truths We want you to know exactly what you're getting when you book your stay at Hafod Iwrch so we've tried to be completely honest in our description of the place. Wi-fi - our rural location means we can only offer limited free wi-fi to our guests. It's fine for checking emails, Facebook, and browsing the web, but not so good for watching videos, playing online games or downloading large files. Mobile phone reception tends to come and go at Moel Yr Iwrch. There is usually no signal inside the cottage but you can make calls a short walk up the road or in the field next to the cottage. Our house landline is always available in an emergency. Rear garden - Ysgubor Iwrch has a lovely enclosed garden running along the whole length of the cottage. Our rustic old hay barn runs along the other side of the garden. This open sided barn provides an unique undercover area where you can enjoy the views in all weather. The original plan was always to remove the barn once the cottage was ready, but following positive feedback from our first guests we have decided to let it stand as an additional quirky feature for the time being. Please take a close look at our photos for further details. Check in time is from 4pm and we kindly ask that you check out by 10am. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement only (T&C's / additional charge applies - please ask). More

About the neighbourhood
Just 4 miles down the road is the bustling village of Betws y Coed, recently declared the official 'Gateway to Snowdonia'. It's beautiful location among woods and riverbanks makes it a popular tourist hot spot. The village itself boasts an outstanding array of shops, from quality craft shops to outdoor gear specialists. It's a village that never closes, even in the middle of winter. North Wales offers a host of adventure activities - climbing, mountain biking, high ropes adventure, surfing (yes surfing!!!) - as well as some more relaxing activities like fishing and golf. A short journey in any direction will take you to rugged mountain tops, big sandy beaches and some of the most spectacular scenery in the UK.
Getting around
We strongly advise that you come to Moel yr Iwrch in a car.
