COVID 19: we have a Covid Control policy in place which is available to read on request. In order to protect our guests and the changeover team this means that amongst other things, we are leaving 53 hours between lets and quarantining some items such as family games, Xbox games, books, crockery etc for at least 7 days between lets. This means that provision of these items is reduced compared with normal. The Games Room continues to be open but we ask guests to respect essential hygiene measures. We provide masks and virucidal gel to support this.

This means that provision of these items is reduced compared with normal. The Games Room continues to be open but we ask guests to respect essential hygiene measures. With an entirely private, heated swimming pool (sits at 28-30°C if air temperature is more than 15°C), which is never shared with anyone else, and access to a games room (normally shared with Le Verger but for your use only under our Covid Control Policy) with pool, table tennis, table football and darts, families or couples can choose their own style of holiday at our country cottage, La Joie du Muguet (generally referred to as Le Muguet). Relax in privacy sitting on one of the terraces or in the shade of fruit trees, enjoy the pool with its shallow end that's perfect for children or enjoy all sorts of activities: games in our games room plus boules and nearby outside activity centres (Go Ape style / Parcours accrobranche), fishing, golf, horse riding, cycling (2 bicycles (adult sizes) provided free of charge), sailing, walking, shopping at local markets, zoos, activity centres, museums ..... or visit the renowned châteaux and vineyards - or enjoy a mix of both relaxation and activity.
With a kitchen sensibly equipped for a family and a charcoal barbecue, you can choose to self-cater or you can eat out at one of the many restaurants in the surrounding towns and villages all of which welcome children.
Bedroom 1 suits a couple in the French Kingsize bed (200cm long x 160cm wide).
Bedroom 2 is just right for a couple and 2 children. COVID 19 note: we normally also provide a travel cot but regretfully we are unable to at present. The French Kingsize bed (160 x 200 cm) in Bedroom 2 can also be made up as 2 singles making this room great for up to 4 children (+ normally a baby in the travel cot, just not at present ).
Although the swimming pool is not heated from mid- September until Easter, the Games Room is open all year for darts, pool, table tennis, table football and ballet barres.
As owners we are a family that lives in France and we, and those who help in the maintenance of this property, can offer you knowledge of our area that only comes with having lived there for many years. If you have any questions that this information hasn't answered, please do just contact us and we will always do our best to provide a full response. We and those who help us live near enough to the cottage to be helpful but far enough away to avoid being intrusive.

We recently stayed in this wonderful cottage. There was everything we could possible want at the cottage. A great pool, bikes, table tennis, barbecue, not to mention the welcome pack waiting for us when we arrived. Felicity had also left us a bottle of champagne,...More

The instructions on how to get to this cottage were comprehensive and easy to follow and we arrived without any problems at all. We travelled from Brittany where we had stayed in a particularly lovely cottage, so I was a bit nervous that this one...More
We had a wonderful family week at the cottage. Arriving late we were very glad to see some bread, cheese, pasta and wine left for us. It is these touches and many more that sets La Joie du Muguet and its considerate owners apart from...More

Noyant, 4km away, and much larger than Auverse, has a good range of shops and a good, Friday market and several restaurants and cafés. Baugé 15min away is even bigger and has a pretty Château. Within a 30min drive from the cottage you can reach beautiful gardens, water activities, horse riding, golf, tennis, fishing , bowling and ice skating. Pretty places nearby include Gizeux, Le Guédéniau, Breil, Linières Bouton, Mouliherne, Le Lude, which is on the river Le Loir, and of course the beautiful town of Saumur. The larger cities of Tours and Angers are 1 hr away.
The many restaurants within a 10 - 25 min drive all welcome families and Chinese, Italian and Indian restaurants are to be found among the traditional French ones. There are also many take away options nearby from gourmet French to Pizzas.
A car is essential to get the best out of your stay at Le Muguet.
Car Hire is available from Paris, Nantes, Rennes and Tours airports. Tours is the nearest - about a 50 minute drive from us.
We are about a 40 minute drive from the nearest motorway which provides links with all major Northern France ports.
