About the neighbourhood
Bodiam is a small village boasting a magnificent castle with moat and grounds. There are many events held here throughout the year. The River Rother runs through the village and in peak season a ferry operates from Bodiam Castle to Northiam. The castle is run by the National Trust and has a tea room and giftshop. The Castle Inn offers a warm welcome and serves a wide range of excellent food. The Bodiam terminus of the Kent & East Sussex heritage railway is in walking distance of the cottage and hosts many events incuding The Hop Pickers Weekend. Visitors can also go from Bodiam to Tenterden by steam train. Tenterden is a charming old market town and offers a wide range of shops.
