This unique holiday is based out of a 2 acre finca on the edge of the authentic Spanish village of Lubrin, Almeria in Andalucia. Lubrin pueblo is a typical Andalucian village tucked away some 2000ft in the Sierra de Los Filabres and just 45 minutes inland from Mojacar on the Costa del Almeria.. It’s charm lies in its narrow streets, its white village houses adorned with bright geraniums and bougainvillea, and its endless sunshine. Not forgetting the charming villagers of Lubrin that provide for all the basic holiday necessities and includes 2 Supermarkets, 2 Bakers, 2 Butchers, Bank with ATM machine, Post Office, 3 Restaurants and numerous Tapas Bars where you can get a Menu del Dias for just €12 including wine. The accommodation is ideally located to provide peace and tranquility yet within walking distance of the village. The finca occupies a hilltop and is surrounded by terraced lawns and Olive, Almond and Pomegranate trees. The self catering apartment is full of character, spacious and with modern amenities. There is a fully equipped kitchen and outside has the benefit of very private terraces to greet the morning sun with a cup of tea or coffee and toast the last rays with a glass of wine. The mountain views are truly panoramic and on a clear day include the Mediterranean sea. There is a swimming pool(closed September 30th to April 30th) to cool off on those very hot days or just pick a shady spot to read a book, sip a glass of wine or take in the views. If you feel a bit more energetic there is moderate self guided walking and cycling straight out of the main entrance into the surrounding foothills. Where to go and what to do! The Cabo de Gata National Park is one of the most beautiful and ecologically rich coastal strips in the western Mediterranean and is the first Natural land and sea park in Andalucia. The drive takes just over an hour and the route down the mountain, via Nijar, is very dramatic. The park offers walks on marked trails and tracks amongst native scrub and grasses, amidst the scent of wild lemon balm and the distinctive aromas of curry plant and herbs. You are able to follow inland trails and coastline. The ancient Andalusian city of Almeria(1 hour away) lies sheltered at the base of a bay, proudly dominated by the amazing Alcazaba, a huge Moorish citadel with three walled enclosures dating from 995. The Alhambra in Granada is a very popular place to visit by our guests. It takes just 2 hours to drive to Granada along the Almeria to Sevilla motorway with stunning view. There is a shuttle bus that takes you from the Alhambra direct to the Plaza de Nueva where it’s a short walk to the Cathedral and Royal Chapel. Best time to go June to September for 'chill' by way of R&R and the swimming pool. October and November for an Indian Summer. November through May for winter sun or self guided walking or cycling. February for the start of Spring and the almond blossom. March to May for bird watching and wildflowers. More

Lovely rustic accommodation, clean and well proportioned. Great outside area and very private with views over surrounding countryside. Only 7 minutes walk into Lubrin with a small selection of bars, restaurants and shops, although dining out was limited as two village restaurants had closed down....More

Interaction with guests
Let our guest describe our interaction philosophy: 'We were worried, being of a somewhat antisocial disposition that John and Maya (accurately described in other reviews as the perfect owners for whom nothing was too much trouble) would be too much present but they got it exactly right and had the knack of being there when needed and not otherwise'
