A great find in a beautiful location
Rosemount cottage is located in the lovely village of Salterforth and is tucked away on a little bridle path so is really peaceful. It is a good base for visiting so many lovely places, walking the Leeds Liverpool Canal with access to the tow path being a 5 minute walk from the cottage. It has an excellent bus service, Barnoldswick is a 20 minute walk or a short drive away and Skipton is approximately 15 mins by car, a little longer by bus.
Although you can’t park directly outside the cottage, we didn’t find this a problem as there is a free village car park a couple of minutes ‘walk away.
The property is decorated and furnished to a high standard and everything we could possibly need to make our stay comfortable was provided including a welcome pack which was very thoughtful and useful.
The beds are very comfortable, and the shower was excellent, lots of power and hot water, the kitchen was well equipped, and the living area was cosy with a good size TV and a dining area.
If you want a break from cooking there is no shortage of places to eat out in the area, I recommend the Craven Heifer at Kelbrook, a 15 minute walk or a 2 minute drive away. It gets busy so it is best to book but the food is excellent.
We have stayed in many holiday cottages over the years and Rosemount has to be one of our best finds, hopefully we will stay again.

Rosemount Cottage, Salterforth
A well equipped cottage sleeping 3 and allows one small/medium dog. Quiet location. Situated in a residential area. Both front and rear doors lead straight on to lanes which have no vehicular access and are public rights of way. No enclosed space for dog. Bistro set by front door for alfresco coffees. Parking is on street or in overflow car park, both a short walk from cottage. Nice canal walks start 250 yards away. Local pub closed permanently when we were there. Shops, parks, restaurants and pubs a mile away in Barnoldswick. Several nice dog friendly pubs a short drive away. A good base for sightseeing but not much happening 'on your doorstep'.

Fourth stay.
Excellent! Quiet, peaceful and restful stay. This is the 4th time here and it won't be the last! Places to walk the dog in easy reach.

Only a short break, but we really enjoyed our stay at Rosemount Cottage.
Only a short break, but we really enjoyed our stay at Rosemount Cottage. It's tucked away up a short path or track, just off the road, which means it's nice and quiet, with distant traffic only heard come the morning rush hour. Others have commented that they had trouble parking nearby but we arrived in two cars and always found a space or two available.
Clean and freshly decorated throughout, with a modern shared bathroom (shower), and a living/dining room with more chairs than the cottage sleeps guests, so plenty of options.
A couple of minutes walk to the Leeds-Liverpool canal, with easy walks either north through Barnoldwsick (the Lock Stop cafe just beyond is worth the walk), or south to Foulridge where the canal disappears into a tunnel. The Anchor Inn in Salterforth is the local pub, serving mainly locals in the evening and canal travellers by day. Food at the Anchor in only served until 7:30 so unless you eat early you'll have to look elsewhere, but there are some good takeaways and cafes in Barnoldwsick.
