Maycroft is a comfortable Victorian bed and breakfast in a quiet village position. High on the hills above Swanage with lovely views over the countryside and down the valley to the sea Large garden and private parking. Close to all the amenities of the Isle of Purbeck and South West Coastal path. Guests are offered full bed and breakfast facilities including a full English breakfast or lighter alternatives. There is an extra sitting room for guests use during the summer months and a fridge and microwave.

We live on site and Maycroft is our home and we welcome guests. We are both very knowledgable on the area and its facilities and delight in helping our guests enjoy their stay with us. Guests have their own keys and are welcome to come and go as they please. Wonderful walking country and excellent beaches at Swanage or Studland.

About the neighbourhood
The Isle of Purbeck is unique, having a magnificent coast line and is a Unesco site for the Jurassic Coast and South West coastal path. The house is a short walk over the fields to the cliffs for keen walkers and bird watchers.

There is a friendly local pub and Post Office general store in the village. Lots more restaurants, pubs, etc. in the locality a short drive away either at Swanage or Corfe Castle. We are a short drive from the famous Tank museum at Bovington and Monkey world. A little further afield for Salisbury and Dorchester
Getting around
The main road leading past The Old Malthouse links in with the A350, running between Swanage and through Wareham to join the A351. An easy drive to visit all the tourist attractions in the area or to use the smaller roads to visit the coastal villages. We have a good supply of maps and books covering the area.

Railway: South West trains at Wareham: 18.0 km
Ferry: Brittany Ferries at Poole: 25.0 km
To find Maycroft, by car (BH19 3JA), turn onto the B3069 at the end of Corfe Castle or Swanage. Maycroft is situated at the top of the hill in Langton village inside the grounds of The Old Malthouse School. Turn into the Old Malthouse Lane and pass through the school buildings. Maycroft is on the left just past the four new houses. Please drive in round the back of the house.

If using public transport Langton can be reached from Wareham station (South West trains, Waterloo to Weymouth line) taking the Number 40 bus from the station to Swanage getting off at the top of the village. Down the main road turning left into the Old Malthouse School and Lane.

The nearest airport is Hurn for Bournemouth. bus to station then train to
