Located at the foot of 'Mount Royal', the residence is on a quiet family style street named Drolet. Mount Royal, which was inaugurated in 1876, and New York’s Central Park share the same designer. Historically Drolet Street was settled in the 1800's. Many original Victorian style facades still exist making this one of Montreal most charming back streets. Furthermore in 1988 our family was honoured to accommodate Mother Teresa and her first mission here in North America in this residence. (See « 3897 Drolet histoire du plateau » on google).
This magnificent residence is in an ancestral building of the 1800’s. It has 5 bedrooms spread out on 2 levels with hardwood and ceramic floors, 9-foot high ceilings, soundproofing, and a water closet on the first level and a complete washroom on the second level. The residence also features a back patio.
We provide unlimited high speed Internet, flat-screen T.V.'s in the bedrooms with French and English programming. For your convenience, there are also mini fridges in each bedroom. There is also bigger TV screen in the living room. The kitchen is complete with all kitchen wares and a dishwasher. Garbage bags, hand-soaps, dish soap, and bathroom tissue are all provided.
Transportation to and from the residence is quick and available nearby. The Montreal subway system is a quick and safe way to transit anywhere within the island, and even further. The city of Montreal is also criss-crossed with numerous bicycle and roller skate paths that are the safest in the world. Montreal also offers the possibility of bike rentals called 'Bixi'. A bike rental stand is within 1 minute from the residence and bicycle paths start literally next door to the residence. Parking in this area as well as the downtown core is very difficult. We strongly suggest to our guests to use public transportation. It is quick and not too expensive. The Montreal Pierre Trudeau airport is 24 km away and the Windsor train station is about 4 km away. We also have a national and international bus station that is a 4 minutes drive from the residence. From this bus station you can travel to all cities within Canada and nearby U.S.A.
This is a non-smoking residence. We ask guests that do smoke to do this outside of the residence. We also ask of our guests to be respectful of our neighbours.
Some of the services that we provide freely and with pleasure, include unlimited high speed Internet, offer to come greet you at the airport or train station, a brief guided tour of the surrounding area as well as pointing to some of the major and historical landmarks while driving you to the residence.
