Our modern 3-storey house overlooks picturesque Departure Bay: sunrise from your window, geese honking above and deer feeding below. Our rental unit can be split into two well-appointed suites on 2 floors interconnected by an internal staircase: a 3-bedroom 2 baths suite on the second level and a 2-bedroom 1.5 bath suite on the ground level. Centrally located in a safe and quiet neighborhood, it is a stone's throw from the ferry terminal and the float plane terminal. We are within a short walk to a bus stop, to Brooks Landing Mall (with Save-On Foods supermarket, pharmacy and a deli, a gas station, a hardware store, Royal Bank, travel and insurance agency, Tim Horton’s, a Chinese restaurant, Staples and more). Within 5-7 minutes driving distance are boat ramps, Beban Park Recreation Centre with pool and gym, bike trails, hiking trails, Nanaimo Golf Club, Nanaimo Downtown and Harbour, Seawall and fishing pier, antique stores, Nanaimo museum, & Port Theatre. From the suite, watch float planes and ferries zip in and out of the channel, marvel the ever changing wonders of Nature: glorious sunrise, rolling fog or a rainbow, ...
How to get there
Please write to owner for directions and advise your route and departure point. In summer, it is best to book ferry space ahead of time, so that you won't miss your sailing, and have to wait in the hot sun for the next sailing(s). There are two ferry terminals (Departure Bay & Duke Point) in Nanaimo. Departure Bay Terminal is the closest (only 1.8 km from our place). Also, the sailing (from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver) takes 1 hr. 40 minutes whereas the sailing from Tsawwassen to Duke Point takes 2 hours, and the latter is 19.8 km from our place.
