Birch Cottage is in a perfect location for visiting Alton Towers and the Peak District. Alton Towers is only 6 miles away and the Peak District boundary less than a mile.Birch Cottage is situated in a secluded corner of our picturesque courtyard. It is one of four award winning cottages approached down a long private drive. The cottage has its own private (dog proof) garden and seating/barbeque area. The cottage has been tastefully converted from farm buildings which are over 400 years old. It is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. Downstairs there is a dining kitchen and spacious sitting room with tv/dvd combi. There is a bathroom and shower room downstairs and upstairs a double bedroom and twin room. An extra camp bed is available if required. There is a bathroom and shower room downstairs and upstairs a double bedroom and twin room. An extra camp bed is available if required. The cottage is ideal for walkers and cyclists. We have a network of walks from the doorstep. Just a mile down the road is the Manifold Trail, Britain's first cycle trail and probably the most picturesque. The tea shop a few miles down the trail is well worth a visit and cycles can be hired from the two cycle hire centres. We have a lockable shed for safe storage of bikes. We are dog owners ourselves and welcome well behaved pets at a nominal charge of £10 per dog. We have a field set aside for dog exercising. We can also provide stabling and grazing for guests' horses. There are miles of bridlepaths in the area and quiet lanes for safe riding .We have a play area for children with a recent addition of a trampoline which is very popular and ensures children get a good nights sleep! The Broadhurst Bunnies love to be picked up and cuddled and our ponies are always ready to make friends. We have barbeques for our guests to use and parents can relax whilst the children play. Waterhouses, the nearest village is a mile and a half away and has a grocer's shop, pub, café and takeaway. There are several local pubs serving delicious food. Ashbourne and Leek have many bars and restaurants if you want to travel a little further for an evening out. We can provide a baby or dog sitting service for that well earned break.Birch Cottage has been awarded *** by Visitengland. We can also supply a hot tub at a cost starting at £60 for 2 days. What better way to relax and enjoy the spectacular views. More
