Rowan cottage is situated in the quaint seaside village of Rosemarkie less than a 2 minute walk from a long sandy beach. Chanonry Point, at the far end of the beach, is a well known spot for dolphin watching.
The property has been fitted to a high standard with many thoughtful extras included. The modern bright kitchen has a conservatory area which looks out onto the colourful cottage garden and double doors lead onto a small decked area - a morning suntrap - perfect for lazy breakfasts on sunny mornings.
Off the kitchen is the spacious sitting room, with unusual whitewashed wood-lined walls. The separate lounge has a stripped wooden floor and original slate marble fireplace.

The cottage is on the doorstep of the most intriguing part of the Black Isle for lovers of folklore , legend, nature ,natural beauty and mystery. It is equally ideal for a holiday of exertion as it is for one of lazy idleness .

Everything you need in a holiday cottage. Very well appointed and comfortable. Lots of space for four of us to be together or have alone time. Picturesque garden with a sheltered area just right for breakfast. We've been before and will definitely return.

Each room has been tastefully furnished and freshly decorated. The cottage is surprisingly bright and spacious - it has even been described as a 'Tardis'! The kitchen has a De Dietrich induction hob and Siemens oven and microwave. Extras in the kitchen include a small selection of herbs and spices, olive oil, fresh ground pepper, tea, coffee etc. Supplies of dishwasher and washing machine tablet are also supplied.
In the bathrooms complimentary hand soap is provided along with cotton bath mats, bath, hand and face towels.In the colder months the property has central heating throughout.

About the neighbourhood
The Black Isle is in fact a peninsula and is slightly off the beaten tourist track a short distance from the main A9 just north of Inverness. The historic villages along the coast of the peninsula each have their own character with farming and fishing traditionally supporting the thriving communities. Although Rosemarkie has grown over the years the main street has changed little in the last hundred years. The village still supports restaurants. In Fortrose, just a mile away there is a larger selection of shops and amenities including a Sports Centre. Rosemarkie is well served by a half hourly bus service from Inverness. The bus stop is about forty metres from the front door of the cottage.
