An amazing location. THe English Library is just a few blocks away, and is a wonderful source of reading materials, courses, comraderie, and their wonderful tours of the fabulous homes of Merida. The neighbourhood is vibrant and yet safe. There is a nunnery and school behind the Casa, another school down the road, a parking lot just across the road, and a hotel on the corner where you can go and have a great buffet breakfast. The street can be busy as you are right in Centro, and yet once inside the house, you will not hear a lot of street noise. You can sometimes hear the little children happily singing songs with their teachers which is so charming. Just down the road, there are sellers with fresh oranges and fruit. The home is a renovated antique home with 18 foot ceilings and beams, archways, and antique pasta tile floors. Each bedroom is unique and has Queen beds and Egyptian cotton linens One bedroom is Moroccan style and dressed in blue ikat cloth with fabulous lighting, and a great reading lounge chair. The other Spanish style bedroom is just off the back patio and is very colorful with plenty of wrought iron and gorgeous peeks of the sunlight pool and garden. Each bedroom has their own en-suite bathroom, with one also accessible for guests. There is air conditioning in both bedrooms, and ceiling fans throughout the house for your comfort. The living area in the front of the home has TV with cable, internet, and wifi. We offer you a cell phone for your use during your stay as well to keep you in touch with our property manager or others in the area, and we have information on local restaurants and grocery stores close by the area. The pool is perfect to refresh you after a morning of shopping or sightseeing and is 5 feet deep so perfect for exercising or just relaxing with your cold beer or glass of wine. Our home is perfect for 1 to 2 couples. Secure parking is available close by. Please let us know if you will have a vehicle during your stay. There is a daily rate, but it is free with a 1 week or more stay. We do have a blow up bed which could be suitable for a single person, and that can be available to you. Email us for special monthly rates for Casa Lola. Please note that as the normal custom, due to expensive electricity in the Yucatan, that electricity will be charged during your stay. Why stay in a hotel when you can have a private home with a private pool right in the heart of the city of Merida.More

You will receive a booklet about the house, as well as an email with helpful hints about the house and Merida. In the front console is also information about Merida. The managers will be available 24/7 by phone or email, and can be contacted at any time. You have the house to yourselves - totally private.

Excellent house

Excellent house and location to Centro Merida. My wife and I stayed at the house for 16 days and enjoyed each day. Restaurants and shopping are near by and well within walking distance from the house.

Fabulous !!!

I stayed with family for 10 days. This is my second visit here and it was even more lovely than i remembered. Close to the center of town and many restaurants. The owners have provided menus and maps to many that they have enjoyed.

Beautiful Hot Box

House was clean and well-kept with a beautiful yard. Management was great. We went during a very hot period and AC was marginal at best. House has no airflow through it. It was easily 90 degrees F with the air conditioning on.More

Merida;s Historic Centro is a romantic, cultural experience. There are so many reasons to visit Merida. The people are friendly, and helpful - its almost like going back in time. Yet, there are all the modern amenities you will need in this vibrant city. There is always something to do in Merida, and something to see. Every evening there is live and free entertainment in one of the parks or squares. Experience cultural events, Mayan festivals, dancing and singing, world class musicians, Noche Mexicana evening, and the list goes on and on. Within a few hours drive, is the Magical Puebla of Izamal, a must-see. Also, take a day trip by car, or take a local tour to some of the Yucatan's lesser known ruins, or take in the well known Chitzen-Itza, just a short bus ride away. Visit Vallad...

Its easy getting around by bus or just walking. You're so close to Centro you do not need a car. There are tour groups, or just get a taxi to go anywhere you want. Its easy to get a bus close to Casa Lola for Progresso.
