Upstairs there’s a kingsize bedroom, which also has a z-bed for a child, plus a single bed which is sectioned off from the landing by a curtain. There is so much to see and do in this area. Farnham is only a 5-minute drive away, with the mainline station to London, or to the south, as well as Farnham Maltings, a cultural organisation with theatre and dance productions, pottery, art, textiles and photography. Farnham Caste, Museum, Frensham ponds, Waverley Abbey with England’s first Cistercian abbey, Hogs Back Brewery Tours, Rural Life Centre and Birdworld which are all close by. You can find scenic walks in the nearby South Downs National Park, Alice Holt Forest Woods and Chawton, here you will also find Jane Austen’s House Museum, where she wrote a number of her greatest works. Portsmouth, with its historic dockyard, Spinnaker Tower, the D-Day and Royal Marines Museums, Gunwharf Quay, waterside dining and shopping outlets, is just a 45-minute drive away, as is Chichester, with its ornate cathedral, festival theatre, cinema, Goodwood Races and Fontwell Races. Alresford is a short drive away, with the Watercress Line steam railway, where visitors can enjoy a delightful trip on an old steam train, which stops at various stations along the way. Also worth a visit, is the market town of Petersfield with a mainline station, and Winchester, with its cathedral, Guildhall Water Meadows and Intech Science Centre and Planetarium. Marwell Wildlife Park and The Queen Elizabeth Country Park at Horndean, which has 1,400 acres of woodland and downland, and are only 9 miles away. The beaches at Wittering and Hayling are a 50-minute drive, and sailing in the Solent is possible from numerous marinas in the area. A day trip to the Isle of Wight from Portsmouth or Southampton should not be missed. Shop 500 yards, pub and restaurant 50 yards.
