Outside • Delightful decked area to the front with barbecue area, comfortable seating and panoramic views. • Additional private front garden to the front with direct access to the sea • There are fields behind the house with lovely walks and scenic views of Strangford Lough, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The facilities in the house include Wi-Fi, Sky and a large flat screen television. Departure - We ask our guests to please vacate the property by 11 am on the morning of departure. Arrivals - We are delighted to welcome our guests at 4pm on the day of arrival. Payment of the deposit - Please note that payment of the deposit confirms you have read and agree to the terms set out at the bottom of this description. Activities - There is plenty to do: • For the visiting yachtsman there is a deep water mooring in front of the house, available by prior arrangement. • Strangford Lough Yacht Club, which welcomes temporary members, is within walking distance. See club website for sailing courses. • Kayaks and Canoes can be rented locally. For children explore Delamont Country Park and Adventure Playground. • There is riding, walking and golf at Mahee Golf Course, fifteen minutes away by car. • The world famous links course, Royal County Down is a forty five minute drive away. Many other fine golf clubs are within 40 minutes including Royal Belfast, Malone, Ardglass, Lisburn, Clandeboye Shandon Park. A day out to Royal Portrush and Portstewart is easily managed with time to get back for dinner locally. A perfect venue for a golfing holiday. • Spend a day at Castle Ward and Mount Stewart, two of Northern Ireland's finest National Trust properties or enjoy a visit to the Mourne Mountains. • Eat delicious seafood or enjoy a drink at Daft Eddies Restaurant and Pub, a five minute stroll around the Island. Try Balloo House, The School House and The Poachers Pocket for fine dining or bistro food within a five to ten minute drive. Payment of the Deposit - Payment of the Deposit is confirmation that our guests have read and agree to the following: Number of persons in the property - The number of persons staying in the property must not exceed the number stipulated in the booking confirmation. Parties and Groups - We are not able to have parties in the house. No more than four additional guests at any time. Parking - Maximum parking space for four cars. Reviews - Please note that the reviews and the activity log on the Holiday Lettings site up to October 2016 refer to our earlier offer, the Main House and not the Cottage which is a new project. We do not wish to mislead our guests so comments about the accommodation are not relevant but any comments about the location and the views are important as both properties are adjacent. We have retained these earlier reviews for our guests to evaluate the superb aspect of the Cottage. More

Beautiful location looking out onto the water. Good facilities and WiFi which is paramount when travelling with teenagers. Daft Eddy's a short walk down a private road... couldn't ask for better! Thanks for a lovely tranquil stay Lindy.

Tourism, recreation, agriculture and commercial fishing are the main industries. Environmental management and scientific research are also important. The Queen's University Marine Research Station in Portaferry brings students and lecturers from all over the world and much of the work has a basis in the Lough's extraordinary marine life and tidal currents. The area is also noted for having a very large proportion of artists and craft people. Strangford Lough is surrounded by quaint towns and villages with excellent restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops. Local towns include: - Comber - a plantation town and home of Thomas Andrews the designer of the Titanic. The town owes its development to the Industrial Revolution. How to get there
The Boathouse Sketrick is easily accessible from Belfast being just 40 minutes from the Port and George Best City Airport and one hour From Belfast International airport. It is a two hour drive from Dublin Airport. If you are coming from the South by rail, the Enterprise from Dublin , a two hour trip, is a very pleasant way to travel or if you are driving up why not stop at Kildare Village on the way for designer retail shopping at great prices. There is also a bus - Dublin Airport Express Coach Service operates to Dublin Airport, with a journey time of approximately 2 hours.
