House Rental
The villa is beautifully located on a large lot, just a one minute walk from a lovely white sand beach. You even have a lovely view of the ocean from windows on the front of the house. The back of the house opens onto a gorgeous inland waterway, where you can enjoy the use of free paddle boards and kayaks, or relax and watch the beautifully coloured tropical fish, including spotted eagle rays, swimming by, while frigate birds fly overhead, herons perch on the dock posts, and humming birds dart around looking for their sweet treats. Right on the water's edge is a covered tiki-bar with picnic table and benches where you can enjoy al-fresco meals overlooking the water - maybe fish freshly caught off the dock! And quite often, you can enjoy all this with sunsets to die for!

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Great house great time
We really liked the house. And the people are great. Be prepared food the cost of food it is a little pricey but was all good.
We caught a taxi at the ferry. It was Phil's taxi service and he is fantastic. Will work with you on the fare and will wait on you for the return. Make sure you ask Pat for his number. He is the best.
The location is good right on a canal and straight across from the beach.
I highly recommend this rental.
James.

What a great place to stay!
The house was perfect for us. We had our 2 adult children, one with a significant other and my sister. The Tiki Hut out back was great, we sat out in the morning for breakfast had dinner out there or would just sit there at night talking. Pat and Ivan had everything we needed and more. They drove us to the grocery store whenever we would need them to, and were always just a phone call away. The beach across the street was fabulous!! Just a few people walking on the beach we would be the only ones sunbathing and even in the water. We would walk to the resort down the street for drinks or appetizers which was fun. There are taxi's available at the resort also, but we rented scooters one day for 24 hours, which I would recommended. It worked out nice to take them into Port Lucaya Marketpplace and we even went out to Pier-One restuarant to see the shark feeding. You do need some transportation to get in to town, but the house is very quiet and comfortable. We would definately stay there again. I

About the neighbourhood
The villa is located in the lovely Silver Cove area of Freeport, just a one minute walk from the beautiful white sand beaches and a five minute drive from the ever-popular Port Lucaya Marketplace with its lively atmosphere, colourful shops and restaurants to suit every taste and pocket.
When staying at Silver Point Villa, you can walk across to the lovely beach in the mornings, lunch at your own private tiki bar on the water's edge at mid-day, lounge in the spacious grounds in the afternoons, surrounded by bougainvillea, hibiscus, frangipani, ornamental palms and an abundance of coconut palms. You could enjoy a good book and cool drink in one of the several shady seating areas, or cool off with a swim in the waterway, which is easily accessed via steps from the wooden dock. If you bring your own boat, there will be no additional charge for the dockage! Needless to say, there is ample free parking!
We do recommend a rental car, but If you don't want to go that route, buses to Port Lucaya are occasionally available at the end of the street and taxis are always ready and waiting just a little way from the front gate.
If you can drag yourself away from the lovely grounds and nearby beach, you will find a great dive and water-sports centre just around the corner, golf within easy access, horse riding in the waves and lovely walks along the promenade and beautiful beach of nearby William's Town.
LOCATION AND AMENITIES
The island boasts an excellent infrastructure with good roads, public transport and reliable power, telephone and utilities.
There are also several championship standard golf courses, world class scuba diving, excellent boating and good fishing. There are various sports and social clubs, a theatre, cinemas and a wide choice of fine dining from the delicious local Bahamian fare to a range of international cuisine and gourmet restaurants.
Grand Bahama is just a short 25 minute flight from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, or the Bahamas capital, Nassau, all of which have a large range of air links to the rest of the world.
THE BAHAMAS
Spread over a large expanse of Atlantic Ocean, the 700 islands of The Bahamas bask in breezy semi-tropical sunshine year round. About one hundred of the islands are minimally inhabited, and just a small handful has any kind of sizeable population.
Starting just 50 miles from the Florida coast, the archipelago swoops southeast for some 600 miles, almost to Haiti and Eastern Cuba. The capital, Nassau, is located on New Providence, while the second city, Freeport, is on Grand Bahama. The remainder of the islands, known as the Family Islands, including Andros, the Abacos, Eleuthera, and The Exumas, are very accessible, thanks to a couple of small, but very reliable, local airlines.
The greatest asset of these islands is the incredible sea, which they ornament. Colours range from pale crystal green in the Bahama banks to deep regal blue in Exuma Sound and the awesomely deep Tongue of the Ocean. The water is so clear that you hardly need a snorkel mask to view the astonishing array of marine life at the countless coral reefs. Following a close second to the water are the beautiful white sand beaches which surround the islands.
Getting around
Taxis are readily available just a little way along the street for those who choose not to rent a car.
