Holiday Rental House
Palm Trees enjoys magnificient panoramic sea views spanning more than 180*. Sparrows Bay (Craigston Beach) is 2 mins walk down stepping stones: half-mile sandy beach, which is usually deserted. Good for swimming, snorkelling and fishing. Secluded, quiet house on private cul-de-sac road offering peace and tranquility and a time of recovery from the rat-race. There is only one bungalow in front of Palm Trees, (set below on sloping land, and does not spoil the endless sea-view). Living space: PT has one large living room with double futon (plus hanging wardrobe) if needed, with fully functioning kitchen at the back: guest bathroom: king size bedroom with en-suite: small single bedroom: 2 dining tables on large wrap-around verandah with amazing views as per photos. Also 2 hammocks. ...Palm Trees enjoys magnificient panoramic sea views spanning more than 180*. Also 2 hammocks. No air-con but three overhead/wall fans and 3 freestanding fans available if needed. From Nov to March the cooling sea breezes are usually cool enough. There are sun blinds on both west and south verandas, which help keep the house cooler. As the veranda is raised off the ground, it is not suitable for toddlers and very young children. Carriacou epitomises the Caribbean of yesteryear and is not a tourist mecca! But if you want friendly people, good honest simplistic Caribbean, this is the place for you. It is where I spent my early childhood, and visited my parents regularly, so a bit of my heart will always remain in C'cou. Hence this is our home (not primarily a rental property) to which I try and return two or three times a year. It is therefore fully fitted with every convenience you could want ie. telephone, wi-fi, food-mixer, microwave, mini-cooker, crock pot, etc. Unlike most rental properties we also provide and leave out cooking condiments, herbs and spices as we realise you don't want to buy something to use once or twice. I cannot find any way of including this under Rates, but the prices quoted are for two adults per day/night, but like every other local property, we do make a small additional charge for each extra adult (no charge for children) of US$15 a day to cover extra electricity for fans, washing extra bedding, wear and tear etc. (Elec costs are very high because all the diesel has to be imported by tanker from Grenada.) Once you have made the final payment, I am then allowed by TAadvisor to send you a lot of other useful information with email addresses and telephone numbers, but in the meantime I will try to answer any other questions you may have, and offer tips to ensure you have a fantastic holiday, on what, I consider to be Paradise on earth. Pets Allowed: No
Smoking Allowed: No
Kid Friendly: Yes
We try to have as few rules as possible, but we would request no smoking in the house (owner has asthma), and also for fire safety reasons as the house has a lot of natural wood! It is a quiet neighbourhood, so please be considerate of our neighbours and don't play loud music late into the evening.

About the neighbourhood
Very quiet location at end of private road on small estate. Palm Trees is one of six houses in cul-de-sac. 10 minute walk to main road with public transport to Hillsborough town - 5 mins. Very close to sea, sandy beach accessed by steps. Safe swimming (unless sea happens to be very rough - so please use common sense, and good for snorkelling. Fishing from beach permitted. You can arrange for local boats to collect you from beach to take you to other offshore islands.
Getting around
As Palm Trees is at the end of a secluded lane, you can either walk approx. 10 mins to the road and then use the local buses, which run from 6.30 AM to 5.30 PM (approximate) or phone for a taxi to collect you from the house or you can rent a car/jeep for part or all of your holiday (Stenna can organise this for you) Please note that if you rent a vehicle you will need your driving licence to obtain a temporary visitors driving licence at a minimal cost, approx. US$12 (The hire company can sort this licence out for you)
