You will love people watching from the comfort of this 2 bedroom apartment that has spectacular double doors that open to the sidewalk of San Jose Street. The location is ideal for those looking to be close to the action in Old San Juan, located less than a block from the busy nightlife and restaurants of Calle San Sebastian and a short walk from El Morro Spanish fort. It is also just a few steps from the Old San Juan Cathedral. The apartment sleeps six adults, has one queen bed, two full beds, a four-person dining table, an updated and fully stocked kitchen, and a living room with flat-screen TV and WIFI. It is important to mention that this is a ground-level unit with wooden windows and doors overlooking the street - guests will hear street noise at night and that is part of the charm! LIVING AREAS Enter Villa Azulejo to an open layout that includes a comfortable living room with a sofa and flat-screen TV, a 4-person dining table and a renovated and fully stocked kitchen. All this with the spectacular double doors that you can completely open to the street or leave closed with windows to let sunlight in. The villa has air conditioning and WIFI. The layout makes very efficient use of space and the cathedral ceilings make the area feel much larger. It is important to mention that the loft is street level, so you will hear the street noise typical of urban locations. There is one full bathroom with a standing shower. Bath and beach towels are included. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS The master bedroom is appointed with a queen bed that is outfitted with fresh linens for each stay. The second bedroom has a bunk bed with two full beds. This apartment has a maximum occupancy of 6 guests. There is a ceiling fan and air conditioning. PACK AND PLAY (SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY): We can leave a complimentary Pack and Play at the property upon request. This should be requested upon booking or no later than 5 days before arrival. Pack and Plays are subject to availability. KITCHEN Villa Azulejo has a simple but modern kitchen with a fridge, microwave, sink, and a stove. It is fully stocked with everything you might need for an extended stay. Dinnerware and a small cooking pot sets are included. GETTING AROUND This property does not include parking. If staying within the general San Juan/Metro area, we recommend moving around via Uber. If you decide to rent a car, there are various paid parking garages around Old San Juan - pricing varies as some charge by the hour and others have a flat rate. LOCATION Staying in Old San Juan is a truly unique experience filled with charm and character. From Villa Azulejo you can comfortably walk anywhere within Old San Juan. We recommend taking a cab from the airport and using Uber or taxi while you stay at Old San Juan. Renting a car is not necessary unless you are planning on road tripping. This is a truly walkable location with everything you need a short walk away. The apartment does not include parking. Nonetheless, there are convenient parking lots close to the apartment. There are many things to do in the surrounding areas, here are some of our favorites, all within walking distance: Explore the El Morro Fort. There are daily tours of the fort and the large green areas have spectacular ocean views. Take a tour, have a picnic, and fly a kite. This is a must-do. Explore the iconic Calle San Sebastian nightlife. There is a large assortment of bars on this strip which is a favorite among locals on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Breakfast at “La Bombonera”. This is a Puerto Rican landmark well known for its locally inspired breakfast and pastries. Savor Stuffed Avocado. Healthy and "trendy" spot where you can create your own avocado bowl. Take a stroll around “Paseo La Princesa”, a waterfront walkway which you can start off at El Morro and finish of the walk with a rum tasting at Princesa Gastrobar at the end of the trail. TRAVEL INSURANCE We strongly recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance, especially during the peak months of Hurricane Season, which are July to October. Travel insurance is inexpensive and will reimburse travelers for most expenses associated with canceling travel outside of the cancellation window; however, this will depend on what the coverage purchased covers.
