Walpole House is a characterful detached home around a 100 years old, located in the heart of the village of Strete, which is on the South West Coastal path between the glorious beaches of Slapton and Blackpool Sands. Strete benefits from best of both worlds being a Coastal village with secret coves and a Country location, suitable for family, friends and get togethers, with spoilt for choice Restaurants, Pubs, shops all close by. With a Rayburn and real fire for those cooler evenings and small private rear courtyard for balmy evenings, Walpole House is a house for all seasons. With TV, DVD player, Hi-fi, books, games, dvd's, fast wifi, information pack, comfy sofa's and chairs.Kitchen/Diner – Great for social gatherings around the table deciding the next day's excursion and or to enjoy cooking up some local seafood produce. Fully equipped kitchen inc espresso coffee maker, microwave and the usual appliances. Door leading out to -Outside - Enjoy a glass of wine in the privacy of the (small) rear Courtyard. And so to bed…we have 3 lovely bedrooms, master bedroom with Sea and village views from the comfort of your bed, double bed with sumptuous cotton bedding and feature fireplace. Bedroom 2 s double bedroom, again with luxurious bedding, feature fireplace and overlooking the rear courtyard. Bed 3 is a single bedroom with views out to sea. Bathroom – Bath with power shower over, WC and wash basin. Ample on road parking. Please note Summer bookings run Saturday to Saturday. Strete boasts the friendliest of folk and the following village amenities; Shop/Post Office selling groceries, fresh bread, newspapers, logs, wines and spirits to cash back facilities etc. and The Kings Arms public House, also offering restaurant dining and an excellent beer garden with sea views. Walpole House's fantastic location is just 5 miles from the bustling naval town of Dartmouth, with cosmopolitan shops, restaurants, cafe's, cinema, pubs and harbour. Equidistant to Kingsbridge and onto Salcombe, we are less than a mile to Blue Flag Beach 'Blackpool Sands',....the relaxing nature reserves at Slapton Ley are just down the road, something to suit everyone's idea of relaxation. An abundance of great public houses restaurants and farm markets in the nearby village. For the more energetic holiday maker - why not try your hand at a water sport, from Sailing, Kayaking, Coasteering to Kite Surfing there's something for all ages to try. We are more than happy to help you find the right activity for your visit with our local knowledge, information pack and 'Whats on' calendar. Walpole house

We had a lovely holiday here, the house is comfortable and clean with everything you need. Great location, friendly village and a great dog park to make new friends! Our two dogs loved it and Joey didn’t want to leave !

Stylish, comfortable home from home in Strete, Devon

Great

How to get there

There are many routes to Walpole House, our favourite is from the main A38, head for Totnes, Dartington, Salocmbe & Dartmouth, a nice stop off is Dartington Factory Outlet, general open times are 10am til 4pm you can explore the world of glass making, to buying some bargains from the factory direct. They have a wonderful restaurant and other shops from toy shops, to home and bazaar and food and drink delights on site making a great stop en route.
