About the neighbourhood
The Aerie is located in the beautiful village of West Lulworth in the Purbeck district of Dorset. Lulworth is part of the Jurassic Coast and it is famous for its rocks, fossils and landforms, which date from 150-65 million years ago. It is also great for wildlife, with many rare species, including the Lulworth Skipper butterfly. In the middle of this dramatic coastline is Lulworth Cove a perfect horseshoe bay which was used by smugglers from the late seventeenth to mid nineteenth century. The cove itself is a near-perfect circle which has been carved by the waves into the soft rocks.
