Ruby Cottage is a home from home holiday cottage less than two miles from the stunning North Cornish coast. The characterful stone cottage with original wooden beams in the living room and bedroom, provides comfortable accommodation with modern facilities. There is a private garden at the back of the cottage to relax following a day exploring nearby beaches and villages. A charming double bedroom is upstairs with a single leading to a twin on the ground floor.

Situated in the village of Delable, there is a very well stocked grocery shop, garage, post office, antique shop, flower shop and two pubs. Sweet cottage on the main road through Delabole. We arrived to a very welcome gift of cream tea and a bottle of local wine. Pretty, practical garden which was pleasant to sit in and secure for our little dog. We had plenty of day trips...More

This is our second visit to Ruby Cottage and once again it didn't disappoint. spotless and deceptively spacious. Beaches and places to visit on the doorstep. We hope to go back again.

About the neighbourhood
Delabole is a working village, famous for its slate quarry which has been operational since the early 17th Century. There is a very well stocked grocery shop, garage, post office, flower shop, fish & chip shop and two pubs. A wider choice of shops, pubs and restaurants are available in Camelford or Tintagel.

Trebarwith Strand, a beautiful sandy beach at low tide and popular with surfers, is about 1¼ miles away by road (nearer if you are willing to walk), where the Port William pub has good fresh food and fine views.

The spectacular Tregardock Beach is a little further and, as the last mile or so is only accessible by foot, it guarantees a quiet spot even in the height of the summer. Both beaches are dog friendly

How to get there
Airport: Newquay: 35.0 km
Railway: Bodkin Parkway: 20.0 km
Unless you are already in the South West, the quickest route is via the M5 as far as Exeter, then the A30 towards Okehampton. Just after Launceston at Kennards House at the sign for “North Cornwall” take the A395 towards Wadebridge/Camelford. After about 12 miles at the T-junction, turn left onto the A39 towards Camelford. After a few miles you will find a right turn onto the B3314 signposted to Delabole, follow the road, through Slaughter Bridge, across the crossroads, past the windfarm on your left. Once in the village, beyond the garage on your right, the Methodist church and fish & chip shop on your left, just past Water Lane, second cottage on your left, (although first door). You can park on the road immediately outside the cottage.
