A beautifully restored farmhouse in 5 acres of land, with stunning views of the mountains and valleys. The interior combines traditional and contemporary features to great effect and outside there are covered terraces for eating and relaxing, a 10m x 5m swimming pool and olive trees, vines, fruit and nut trees and a small river borders the land. The house has recently undergone extensive restoration work and offers comfortable accommodation in a secluded setting, yet near to towns, shops and restaurants. About the neighbourhood
Set on the edge of the Gran Sasso National park, the house is well-placed to explore this fascinating region. The beautiful Campo Imperatore region, famed as the setting for many films, is nearby, with stunning mediaeval villages such as S Stefano di Sessanio and Castel del Monte to visit, and the castle at Rocca Calascio. There is a furnicular at Campo Imperatore, running to the hotel where Mussolini was imprisoned ( and subsequently escaped from ) at the end of the war. Ideal for walking, mountain biking, and observing the fascinating wildlife, this is an area not to be missed. Locally, the village of Villa Cupoli has 3 restaurants, a bar and bakery, all within walking distance. A little further afield the town of Farindola, clinging to mountainside, has further shops, bars, restaurants ...
How to get there
Ryanair fly Stansted to Pescara, where you can hire a car and complete your journey to the house. Alternatively, there are flights from Gatwick to Rome ( including Easyjet ), and the drive to the house takes approximately 3 hours. The drive passes through some beautiful scenery and many guests like to include a night or two in Rome at the beginning or end of their trip.
