There are lots of footpaths around Morchard Bishop with plenty of choice of walks from the house in the area, the 2 Moors Way passes through the village. Within 25 miles there are the North and South coasts of Devon and both Dartmoor and Exmoor. There is even a local railway station at Morchard Road from where we can collect guests.

About the neighbourhood
The area around the village of Morchard Bishop is mainly rolling farmland with wooded valleys. The river Taw, which rises on Dartmoor and flows to the sea at Barnstaple is the main river. There is good fishing, excellent walking both locally and on Exmoor and Dartmoor. The RHS gardens at Rosemoor are 30 minutes away. For days by the sea the coasts of North and South Devon are not much more that half an hour from here and North Cornawll with its famous surfing beaches, rugged coastline and fishing villages is an easy day out.
Nearby historic Exeter which has a fine cathedral has existed since Roman times. There is lots to see and do there, good restaurants and shops as well as theatre and cinemas.
