Town: New Abbey offers walking and views over southwestern Scotland and the Lake District, the village is famous for the Sweetheart Abbey and has a shop, a coffee shop and two hotels. The River Nith runs nearby. Dumfries is 8 miles away; a market town with restaurants, bars, cafés and museums, as well as walking, biking and fishing in the Galloway Hills.More
