This is an attractive cottage, with lovely sea views, overlooking Kames Bay and the hills of the Cowal Peninsula. The cottage sleeps 6, and also has an additional foldaway bed, plus travel-cot.
The Isle of Bute has three golf courses, fishing in several lochs, and is good for walking and cycling. There is a regular bus service to and from the main town of Rothesay which stops almost outside the door.
The Isle of Bute is easily accessible from the mainland with regular ferries from Wemyss Bay (by the railway station), of from Colintraive, to the north of the island.

This is a lovely house situated just before you turn into the village of Port Bannatyne . It has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms . There is one single bedroom downstairs. There are stunning views of the water from most of the rooms . The...More

Thanks Nigel, we had a great time on Bute, the house was lovely, Clean, cosy and loads of room for 4 adults and 2 children. Was fantastic to arrive to a welcome pack of eggs, butter, tea, milk and bread, very much appreciated. Would definitely...More

Thank you for your kind review, Claire. There used to be cycle hire, but the bike shop stopped doing it. However there are lots of great beaches and countryside for walkers and ramblers, as you noticed. We do hope to see you again one day.

Family holiday with our 3 grown up children and a dog. Perfect location, and a great well equipped cottage to base ourselves at. The stress has fallen away.

The village, Port Bannatyne, has 3 pubs. The Port Inn is open all year and serves cooked meals. The Russian Tavern (or Port Royal, to give it its original name), is open in the Summer and also serves meals. The Anchor is a cosy, welcoming pub, that overlooks the pier.
There is a café and the Post Office/ shop also sells snacks, plus hot and cold drinks.

The Isle of Bute is easily accesses by regular ferries running from either Wemyss Bay, or Colintraive. There are regular buses on the island linking the ferry terminal in Rothesay with the cottage in Port Bannatyne, as well as many taxis.
