About the neighbourhood
The Onion Shed is in a small village called Whitestown approximately 1.5 km from Carlingford.
Getting around
Whitestown is approximately one hours drive from Belfast and Dublin. It is a small townland in the Cooley Peninsula in County Louth with several cottages. Joe Biden visited the area in 2016 to see his great-great grandfathers ancestral home which is directly facing the Onion Shed. Whitestown shoreline with a pebble beach is five minutes walk away. Carlingford town, Templeton blue flag beach, Carlingford and the village Greenore are a short drive away. There are 10 loop walks around the Peninsula with a 3 and 5 km loop walk around the coast. Lily Finnegans pub is a short walk from the cottage where there is entertainment at the weekends. There are also plenty of cafes, pubs, shops and restaurants in nearby Carlingford.
