Bungalow
Our spacious, sunny, self-contained guest bungalow has its own private entrance (back/front doors) and so is suitable for guests who wish to avoid contact with others due to the Covid-19 virus. It is deep cleaned between guests with the use of strong anti-bacterial products, soap and water. It has a living room, bedroom, bathroom, fully-equipped kitchen and is completely private with its own sunny, wrap around patio, with a wooden bench one side and a table and two chairs the other. It is warm and cosy in cold weather due to efficient central heating plus a decorative but powerful wall mounted flame effect electric fire in the living room. Parking is off street in front of the main house. The bungalow is ideally located away from traffic and looking out onto the garden and in a quiet location moments from the River Thames. It's 3 mins on foot to Richmond Bridge and 5 - 8 mins to Richmond and its beautiful riverside walks, parks, restaurants, bars and shops. Two minutes walk the other way and you are on the scenic riverside at Twickenham bridge, among fishermen and houseboats. Richmond station is a 12 to 15 minute walk or a short bus ride. There are five buses to the town and station so you never have to wait long. The bus stop is 0.25 miles or 400 metres or a four/five minute walk away so although the bungalow itself is on one level and accessible, people with poor mobility will probably need a car for which we have off street parking. Richmond has fast trains 15 min to Waterloo, Central London and London Underground tubes every 10 minutes that take around 30 min. Alternatively, St Margaret's overground station is an eight minute walk away with trains every half hour that take 25 min to Waterloo. There is a night bus (N65) from central London to Richmond. From Heathrow airport Uber about £25-£30, taxi £40-£50 or direct bus 490 and five min walk £1.50 from terminals 4 and 5. From Gatwick there's a fast train to Clapham Junction and then a short train journey to Richmond where you can pick up a taxi or any bus going over Richmond Bridge (choice of five). Although we are only a walk up the garden path if you should want help or advice, you will have privacy as the guest suite is self-contained and screened by trees. You will have your own entrances (front and back door) as well as your own bathroom, bedroom, living room and fully-equipped kitchen. The rental is for two people but the bungalow can sleep three - two in the bedroom, one on a single bed in the living room. There is also an electrically operated blow up mattress bed. Extra people beyond two are charged at £15 a night. The bedroom has a Relyon king size bed and there is a VySpring single bed in the spacious living room. Both have medium tension sprung mattresses and sprung bases. Richmond is a very safe area but the annexe is fitted with a burglar alarm should you wish to use it. It is equipped with 100 Mbps fibre broadband wifi and cable TV with 70 channels plus record or catch-up live TV. There is a full size oven and fridge freezer in the kitchen plus a small dishwasher, washing machine and microwave oven. It is well stocked with crockery, pans and utensils. Many local attractions are within walking distance such as Richmond Hill and Richmond Park, Marble Hill park and House, Twickenham and further afield, Kew Gardens. The riverside walk from the property takes you to Ham House and Twickenham riverside and town one way or Kew Gardens the other. There are many restaurants and cafes and small shops on the high street a three minute walk away or in Richmond itself where you'll find a good selection of riverside bars, restaurants, cafes and shops plus the new Ivy Cafe. Twickenham Rugby ground is a 30 minute walk (1.3 miles) or a short bus ride. The 65 bus from Richmond or the underground train go to Kew Gardens. It's a lovely walk from the property along the side of the river to Kew Gardens but it is further than it looks and takes between 45 minutes and an hour. The property is single storey with doors between each room and well away from roads but it is not 'child proofed' so parents bring children at their own risk. It is not 'toddler-proofed' therefore not suitable for children under three. The booking in time is 2pm and booking out time 11am to allow for cleaning but if there is no other booking immediately before or after then we can be flexible on both booking in and out times. NB: The scenic photos are of the immediate area and not the view from the single-story guest suite, which is over gardens. More

How to get there
From Heathrow airport Uber about £25-£30, taxi £40-£50 or direct bus 490 and five min walk £1.50 from terminals 4 and 5. From Gatwick there's a fast train to Clapham Junction and then a short train journey to Richmond where you can pick up a taxi or any bus going over Richmond Bridge (choice of five). The bus stop is outside the station on the left hand side - buses include the 490, R68, H22, 33, 37. The bus stop for the bungalow is Cresswell Road, immediately after Richmond Bridge. Walk back towards the bridge and cross the road at the traffic lights. Turn left into Willoughby Road which becomes the pedestrian walkway Duck's Walk. Riverdale Gardens is the third road on the left and we are a few houses up on the right.
