Holiday Rental House
Borgo Corboli – which means Corboli hamlet – has been in Cristina’s family since the mid-1960s. Her father bought part of the main house (where the main dining room is situated) as a weekend and holiday retreat for the family. The hamlet – comprising a large main house and several small 2-roomed villette - was then populated by several other families who either worked the land or relaxed there for holidays. Over the decades, as the other inhabitants moved away, so Cristina’s family bought their properties. Now, the whole of Borgo Corboli belongs to Cristina and her family. She spent several years lovingly renovating the properties with local materials and products – no plastic gutters here, they are made of brass – and turning Corboli into a successful holiday business. Borgo Corboli was the second choice in Tuscany in the budget category for Channel 4’s Vacation, Vacation, Vacation in 2011, narrowly missing out on being on UK national television. With an Agriturismo holiday, guests can forget about Hotels and Restaurants – our holidays are just not like that. There are no characterless rooms, mass-produced food, and staff in uniforms. There are welcoming rooms, homely service, friendly chats and open fireplaces. And the food! The food reflects that which is locally grown and eaten - grown either on the farmstead itself or nearby. It is cooked in the local style, and is served around large tables – usually in the open or near the open log fire. The Agriturismo holiday, however, is about choice. Guests are free to take part/help in all aspects of the running of the farm, or they can take advantage just of the welcoming accommodation and hospitality. There is so much offered on an Agriturismo holiday – and you are able to choose how you would like to be involved – or not.More

About the neighbourhood
There are lots of trails in our valley. Maintained by the Prato branch of the Italian Alpine Club (Club Alpino Italiano di Prato) It's worth visiting the Natural Park Acquerino-Cantagallo. For Florence, we always advise our guests to go by train: leaving from Vernio train station (about 2 km from here), Florence is just 30 minutes away. Florence train station – a modern architectural masterpiece – is right in the centre of the city, very near to Santa Maria Novella Square from where you can begin your visit of our wonderful regional capital. Traffic and parking will be someone elses issues! Prato is our provincial capital, 15 minutes away by train or 25 minutes by car. It is famous for the textile industries but few people know it's a real medieval town with well preserved walls, a castl...
