Visit the old church across the field which locals say predates the 11th century and has a bell in its tower donated as a gift by a queen of Spain in the 1300's. Walk the trail down to the river for a swim or go all the way to the famous canyon, Stretti di Giaredo (water shoes recommended). The Apennine National Park is 1 hour away (38km) for beautiful mountain scenery and hiking. Spend a day exploring the nearby villages of Lunigiana or simply stay put and relax enjoying the rustic common areas, warm lighting and beautiful outdoor spaces. The town of Pontremoli is only 4km away and offers groceries, shopping, restaurants, a castle/museum and sightseeing.

By Car: (GPS Recommended) Pisa- Drive time is about 1 hour to Pontremoli and tolls cost about 12 euros. You can walk to the car rental facility at the airport or take the shuttle bus. Milan- Drive time is about 2.5 hours to Pontremoli and tolls cost about 18 euros one way.
