Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Excellent Holiday Cottage
We arrived 18/07/16 with our Staffe dog Tasha and on entering we found the cottage spotless warm and conformable, well kitted out and very spacious inside and out and very private, there is great beaches close bye, lots of bars restaurants some really nice tea rooms especially beside the the waterfall just a few mins walk just as the beach is. Adrian is great a great help as well, both he and Lisa have a great cottage which suits large and small family's , both Loraine and I would come back and certainly recommend to any one who would also enjoy a great relaxing holiday. Thank you Barry & Loraine Owens Bangor Co. Down N.Ireland

Perfect holiday...
We stayed at the cottage the first week in July and we loved everything about it... The location was perfect, the cottage was clean, cosy and well equipped. We especially loved the log burning fire which we lit every evening. The large enclosed garden was fantastic for our very energetic staffie pup. We visited quite a lot of the beautiful sites of Donegal including The Gap of Mamore, Genveah National Park, The Waterfall, The Famine Village, The Rusty Nail ... Too many to mention. All beautiful in their own way and all worth a visit. The beach at the bottom of the lane was breath taking and spotlessly clean as were all the beaches we visited. The owners Lisa and Adrian were so helpful and friendly, they left us a starter pack which was very useful and even dressed the rooms with little wild flowers which was so homely.... As you can probably tell we loved our trip to the cottage in Clonmany, can't wait to return. Thanks Lisa and Adrian .. Lynnette, Graham and Buster :-)

Relaxation Heaven
My family stayed at this beautiful holiday cottage for a week in Feb 2015. Location was perfect with lovely views of the beach which was only a five minute walk. The cottage was well equipped and cosy, the perfect location for a relaxing holiday. We will be rebooking later in the summer!! Check out the waterfall which is five minutes away and the road trip up to Mamore gap, the views are incredible

Excellent all round!!
Stayed here last week, just wanted a convenient relaxing break. The property was great, the rooms spacious and the open fire was lovely and made the evenings cosy! The weather was fantastic and we were able to take advantage of the beautiful beach within walking distance and the pub close by had a great atmosphere. The owners were very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. We definitely plan to return and recommend this property to family, friends or anyone looking for a carefree break.

Relaxing & Revitalising
We recently stayed at this cottage for one week and we loved every minute of it. The cottage itself has everything you need and is modern in style. The surroundings are breathtaking scenery and we enjoyed the peace & quiet the most. It is not far from the village of Ballyliffen or Clonmany where we stocked up on supplies. We enjoyed the local beaches the most, Tullagh Bay, Lenan Beach, Trawbega Bay, Five Finger Strand to name but a few. We also recommend a trip through Mamore Gap which is just a few kilometres from the cottage, where the views are breathtaking. In the evening we lit the woodburner and just relaxed in front of the tv or played games. We would also recommend the local chippy in Ballyliffen where the fish & chips are delicious. All in all a wonderful holiday where we will be returning to again in the future.

Great Stay in Lovely Cottage
My wife who was recovering from an illness and I visited the cottage in December to get away from it all and relax. We were not disappointed. The scenery in this part of Donegal is stunning and we enjoyed walks on the beach and to the local pub for a drink beside the roaring fire. We booked direct with the owner and he was most helpful, suggesting walks, drives and places to eat and to visit. The cottage was really quaint and very comfortable with all necessary mod cons. Internet/mobile signals are hard to come by but we managed and anyway the idea of such a break in such a beautiful and unspoilt area is to escape all of that. We would recommend the cottage for family holidays where the emphasis is on getting outside and enjoying the countryside and also for couples/friends looking for a break from the daily grind.

Not what it says in the brochure !
Hi As you will see from the attached we booked a holiday home from your website , the headed title of this property says it is in Ballyliffin / Clonmany , may I say that this is not correct as the cottage is a number of miles outside of both these areas. We spent quite some time driving around these areas looking for the cottage only to be told by the locals that it was a distance outside of the areas stated On arriving at the cottage on Saturday the 23rd we were met with a cold cottage , there was no heating on when we arrived and found it hard to get the heating and hot water to work as there were NO instructions on how to operate the heating system.available on site We then tried to open the windows only to find them locked with no keys available to open same. ( I spoke with the landlord on Monday when he rang to see if all was ok , I did not want to start listing the problems we had found with him at the time as I did not thing the time was appropriate , I did mention about the lack of keys to open windows and I was told that they had lost the keys and to use a PAPER CLIP to open them) In the brochure it says that there was to be a play station games console available this was untrue as we could not find any console. The quantity of towels available for the week was TWO , also No change of bedlinen. No list of emergency phones numbers where available either. The details of emergency numbers (of which I have just found in the email sent to me but unable to retrieve same) The television was a small portable TV with no remote control , the stations available were 3 in number and at this we could not see them due to the very bad reception of these stations.(May as well not had any at all) While we found the cottage to be of a good condition the small but very important pieces of information that were either missing or not there left us in a situation where we could not relax and enjoy our holiday for which we had looked so forward to. You will take into context that we are non drinkers and would not frequent the local pubs of the area , our way of chilling out after a days sight seeing would be to come back to the cottage and relax in front of the tv and may be watch a film and have a meal ?? But due to the lack of update modern equipment such as a proper TV and PlayStation on which we could have played DVDs It is with all the above in mind that we decided to cut our holiday short and return home today Tuesday. I would like to be able to recommend this Cottage but as the above states I would find hard to recommend . Best Regards

About the neighbourhood
The Inishowen Peninsula is unique. It has two car ferries running daily, 1 crossing 'Lough Foyle' river from 'Green Castle' to 'Magilligan' in County Derry. The other is from 'Buncrana', crossing from 'Lough Swilly' to 'Rathmullan'. Just a short drive away is the 'Isle of Doagh'. There you will see the 'Doagh Famine Centre', which converts to Ireland's 'Lapland' in November of each year for the Christmas season. Clonmany is the perfect location to explore the peninsula and the north coast of Ireland. Whether you are looking for relaxing getaway away from the stresses of everyday life, or an energising outdoor experience, then you won't be disappointed.Coastal walks .75 miles. Fishing 1 miles. Golf 3.8 miles.
