Beautiful renovated farmhouse
My wife and I had a great stay here in May. The renovated farmhouse is beautiful especially with the open fireplaces and the decor making it feel very homely. The kitchen had everything that we needed and there is plenty of space in every room. Great location with lots of places to visit close by such as the charming village of Dolo and Jugon Les Lacs. A little further afield we had days out to Dinan and Saint-Suliac that were both beautiful before returning back to the quite garden of the farmhouse for a bottle of red wine. The bakeries and markets are a must! The best pastries I have ever had. We had the real French experience and will be looking to go back again.

A beautifully renovated farmhouse
This beautifully renovated farmhouse was a joy to stay in. It is so spacious and the shower rooms are particularly lovely. The kitchen is very well equipped and having a second fridge is particularly useful. The outside area and garden is lovely and so peaceful. So many lovely places to visit nearby and excellent walks as well. Will definitely visit again.

Comfortable, tranquil and within easy reach of so many places
We had a thoroughly relaxing 10 days in August in this spacious, clean and well-equipped restored farmhouse. The kitchen had everything you would need, and the second fridge came in particularly useful. The bedrooms were attractive and comfortable. It was pleasant to sit in the evening in the sunny garden. The village of Dolo is a short walk away, and for the braver, there is a nearby wake-boarding lake – but we weren’t that adventurous. We enjoyed the water sports at Jugon-les-Lacs and also the range of small shops, including a charity shop (good selection of both English and French books). The house is in easy reach of Dinan, where the restaurant La Fleur du Sel was excellent, good value, and just off the large market. The owners provided lots of information about places to visit, which encouraged us to explore the wide sandy beaches and attractive coastline. We’d happily go again.

Beautiful house in a fantastic location!
We stayed for 1 week in July, ages ranging from 5 to 60+ and all had a wonderful time. The house itself had everything we could want. The kitchen was well laid out for family use- the dishwasher came in handy! We BBQ'd in the beautiful garden most evenings and played cards on the patio area whilst looking for bats and birds of prey over the farm land! The main living area had a large family table (plus a smaller breakfast table in the kitchen), extra fridge (very handy for drinks!), good wifi, cd player, dvd and a comfortable sofa area for relaxing. I would love to see the fire lit in winter! Downstairs also there was a shower-room with washing machine. The first floor had an en-suite master bedroom (the grandparents nabbed that quite quickly!) and a further large room where myself and my children stayed, with another shower-room. Leading up in this room there is a mezzanine level bedroom although it is private enough for another couple/children to use, although we didn't need to use it. From the landing area you have another double bedroom in the attic - which we did use, but remember 'duck or grouse' with the original exposed beams in the attic room! The comfy bed made the occasional bumped head worth while though! There is a good sized store/garage with various bikes and a large bbq etc but we took our own this time. The location of the house is wonderful, the directions given got us there with no problem. It is up a quiet lane, with perhaps 4 neighbouring houses. In a 5 minute stroll (or bike ride as we did) and you are in the small village (hamlet?). There's a bakery where we ordered our croissant/baguettes ready for each morning of our stay, a bar (although rarely open?) and a nice cafe- friendly service and they do lovely gallettes! The school, church and village hall are all nice for a wander too. We spent many afternoons at the children's playground and rode our bikes around the sports lake, even tried a spot of fishing there. If you are more adventurous than us - try the water skiing on the lake, it is a training type one with a rope on a loop to practice with! (maybe next time...) We also took our bikes on a longer ride around the farm lands surrounding the house and took some super photos! A little further a field either 5/10min in the car (or 30 min bike ride - too far for my 5 year old!) and we were in Jugon les lacs. This village was absolutely beautiful. We were there for the village festival which was very lucky, there was live music and children's entertainers and stalls. We also went to the market too, everything you would expect from a french market! There are 3 restaurants in the village and a supermarket, bar with pool table - the children were welcomed everywhere which was nice. Jugon has a large lake where we took our kayaks and gazebo for the day and had a bbq. It was so lovely! The water was calm and clear enough for a dip (the adventurous were jumping in from a higher embankment across the lake!) . We didn't catch many fish (tiddlers) although we did see some locals catching larger ones! There is a large outdoor swimming pool (a little cold and men/boys must wear tight speedo type shorts! - we knew before we went so that was ok!) and an indoor swimming pool with fancy slides which the children loved. You can get a week's pass or pay daily for the pool. We travelled from Folkstone to Calais on the Eurotunnel and drove the 5 hours to the house- it wasn't too bad. We left our house for the train at 3 am, got the train at 7 am and arrived at 5 pm. It was £150 for the car/trailer and more than twice this for the ferry to Caen (which docks just 45 min from La Baye!). That said when, (I'm sure we will,) we return we will spend the money and get the ferry! We would definitely return! A lovely relaxing but busy holiday.

Comfort and tranquillity in beautiful Brittany surroundings
Quiet location, this is a beautifully renovated farmhouse with extensive space inside and out. Well decorated and maintained and containing everything needed for a relaxing French holiday. The kitchen gives an authentic French experience for lovers of cooking to enjoy! We have had two holidays here and would go again. Definitely recommend the cottage as a property to stay in. A French home from home!

Beautiful renovation in idyllic location - heaven!
We rented this property for a week, five adults and two teenage boys. The property surpassed our expectations, so tastefully furnished, lots of space in every room, plenty of bathroom facilities, extremely comfortable beds and a stunning setting. The minute we arrived we felt all our stress slip away - you just can't help but relax. I usually pack extra items that are often lacking in holiday lets but that was not needed here - the owners had covered all bases. The area is absolutely beautiful and the local village and surrounding villages are so well kept. The French neighbours were so hospitable - one actually dropped off some home grown beans and lettuce for us on our second day - wow! We had some lovely walks in and around Dolo and went to Jugon Les Lacs regularly for some lovely meals and plenty of wine. The lake is beautiful. There was a festival there one evening and the atmosphere was wonderful with singing and dancing. Dinan was another favourite place and is about half an hour away. It is very pretty and full of historical buildings, plus every type of restaurant and shop you could need. There were so many places in the area to visit we just didn't have the time, particularly when we spent a number of afternoons sunbathing outside the house doing a spot of wine tasting! Even the teenagers in our group loved this place. We will definitely be returning to this holiday let if there's space as I fear once the word gets out we may have to book early.
