Cerrig Gleision (Blue Stones in Welsh) is a very recently refurbished to high standard, comfortable, bright and stylish beach chalet set in the middle of the Pembrokeshire National Park, just 150 m from the unspoiled Freshwater East beach and its dunes. This 1970s chalet is set in a quiet large complex with communal gardens and comprises an open kitchen/dining/sitting room on the ground floor and two bedrooms upstairs with comfortable mattresses (and new bedsteads), one with double bed and the other with a small double and a single bunk bed, and a family bathroom with walk-in electric shower. The chalet is very cosy and has recently been totally refurbished. It's a great family holiday home and it has all the commodities it needs for an easy and pleasant stay. It's very light with sun in the morning from the front and from the back in the afternoon, with rooms freshly painted in white. We have super fast fibre optic broadband with unlimited usage, TV with Manhattan Freesat box, and plenty of sockets (including USB sockets) to charge your gadgets. The lighting has been designed to make it easy for keen readers. Linen and towels are provided. There are very effective heaters if the weather is cold (heating included - hence higher price during cooler months) and a very well equipped kitchen with all the utensils you may need. There are two fridges, a small freezer, dishwasher, and an induction hob and electric oven. One car parking space is assigned to the chalet, but there are plenty more spaces around. There is a travel cot (no linen provided) and a high chair. We have a few games and also plenty of books in English and Welsh for children. There are deck chairs for use in the communal lawn and also other gadgets to protect you and your family from the wind and the sand in the beach. At the back of the chalet there is a large lawn area for the children to run and play, and to sit in the sun. We have books and maps in the chalet so you can plan your walks, day trips, and bird watching books if you are interested. This is a tremendous base to explore the exceptional coastline (we are just around the corner from Barafundle beach, Broadhaven south, Stack Rocks etc), nature reserves like the spectacular Skomer Island with puffins and seals at the right time of year, and historical sites (Carew Castle, Carew Celtic cross, Pembroke Castle, Stackpole walled garden, St. David's Cathedral and many other places). This is a quiet corner of West Wales and we kindly ask you to respect the tranquility. Noisy parties and late night music would not be suitable. CHANGE OVER DAY IS SATURDAY TO SATURDAY. However, if we can, we will try to accommodate to your needs. Please write to us before booking. Check-in 3.30pm. / Check out 10.am

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Lovely holiday chalet
Arrived home last night after a week here, we didn't spend a lot of time in the chalet as we had great weather, it's a lovely clean modern chalet with everything you need for your stay, the extra fridge was a godsend for the drinks for the beach, beds are really comfortable & the bunks are great for 3 children with the double on the bottom, the washing machine was handy too, lots of info in the chalet to help make your stay run smoothly, had a great Saturday night in the longhouse BBQ & singer, Pete & his team do a great job as always, good food & drinks, small shop with essentials not over priced, would definitely book again in the future & highly recommend this property,

Home from home
We had such an enjoyable stay. Our kids fell in love with the area and chalet(215).We found it very clean that we felt no standard had been lost from our own,at our dwellings. There was a guide folder,in the chalet,to help us,from a local area knowledge perspective-well done. There are more places to visit than one can visit in a week, within easy reach of the chalet. A holiday well enjoyed✅✅✅

One of the most beautiful areas of Wales, Pembrokeshire National Park offers an array of activities and places to visit and enjoy. Nature reserves: Skomer island, Caldey island, and the entire coastal path. Kayaks for hire in the Longhouse at Freshwater East, in the same complex as our chalet. The Longhouse serves food, the Freshwater Inn has spectacular views of the bay and the Stackpole Inn, in Stackpole village has a gastro pub, always serving local fish. And many more places to eat if you fancy a trip to the busy Georgian town of Tenby.

How to get there
Access by car is the easiest and almost only way to get to Freshwater East. The closest train station is Lamphey, over 2 miles away. There are local buses by times change during the year. By car from the East: M4, A48, A40 and A477 towards Pembroke Dock. At Milton take left hand turning to Lamphey, where you turn left at cross roads and over small bridge by the church. Take right to Freshwater East. Once in the village, turn right to the beach. The holiday village is on the right after crossing a narrow bridge.
