Region: The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers. Town: The charming and tiny village of Levisham lies six miles to the north of Pickering and consists of delightful stone cottages, farms and a village green. There is a church and pub in the village, whilst there are shops 6 miles away in Pickering. The Hole of Horcum is a section of the valley of the Levisham Beck, which flows along a steep, wooded valley and culminates in a small waterfall and water mill at its foot. There is a labyrinth of footpaths and trails through some breathtaking scenery and the station at Levisham is a stopping point for the North York Steam Railway. The area is perfectly placed for exploring all the historic houses, castles, towns and villages in this stunning and diverse region.
