Holiday Rental House
This Gite is the third of three gites situated in a restored vigneron's (winegrowers) house and is on two levels. The house itself is divided into three gites each with their own entrance and are completely separate. The entrance to this Gite is through a gated paved courtyard directly from Rue Francaise and the front door is at the top of a flight of steps to the left of the courtyard as you enter. From the front door on the first floor you enter into a long hallway with the second bedroom to the right and a wooden staircase to the left going to the top floor and main bedroom. The second bedroom on the first floor has two single beds (3ft) and its shuttered window looks out onto Rue Francaise and beyond to the hills of the National Park. The second bedroom on the first floor has two single beds (3ft) and its shuttered window looks out onto Rue Francaise and beyond to the hills of the National Park. It is very attractively furnished and has an ensuite bathroom. This spacious and attractive bathroom has a separate shower and bath. The bedroom has a shuttered window looking out onto Rue Francaise and beyond to the hills of the National Park. Following on down the hallway is an open plan well-equipped kitchen with an electric hob, fridge/freezer and microwave combination oven. There is also a washing machine within the kitchen units. Two steps up from the kitchen lead into a dining and sitting area with patio doors out onto a terrace. The terrace has a wooden table and chairs for outdoor eating and is perfect for a French breakfast or dinner with a glass of wine in the evening. It also has a parasol for midday. The main bedroom on the top floor is open plan with Vellux windows at the top of the stairs and in the bathroom giving a light and airy feel. There are wonderful views from here onto the rolling hills of the National Park. This bedroom has an attractive ensuite bathroom. The Gite is in the old part of Magalas, a pretty walled Medieval village and within a few minutes walk of a boulangerie (bakery) two bars, a mini Mart and bank. There is a thriving Wednesday morning market where you can buy lots of local produce. Take the opportunity to taste the local wine at one of the many wineries nearby. You are in the heart of the Languedoc's wine growing area. Winegrowers generally are very happy for you to taste their wines and there is no pressure to buy although its unlikely you will walk away without finding something you like. take a drive to the nearby town of Pezenas and eat in one of the many restaurants to be found in the cobbled winding historic streets. The area is ideal for walking, cycling or kayaking. There are many beaches within 20 mins drive and in the other direction you will find the hills of the National Park. Nearest Airports: Beziers (20mins), Carcassonne, Montpellier (1 hr), Perpignon (1.5 hrs), and Girona (2 hrs).More

I travelled here with friends who had stayed here several times before. It is an excellent location for us as we travelled to various rugby sporting fixtures using Magalas as a base. The accommodation was second to none with very comfortable beds and high quality...More

We have now stayed in all three gites over the last three years. We keep coming back because of these gites and the lively, working picturesque village ( increasingly rare to have all three in rural France these days) in which they are situated. The...More
