My sister and I had a lovely stay here! The cottage was well furnished with everything we needed and was very comfortable. Our hosts were friendly and informative without being intrusive. We absolutely loved how we were able to interact with all the animals!

About the neighbourhood
The quiet and tranquil nature of the scenic area is superb for walking. We have a walking leaflet with a series of seven walks, varying in difficulty and length, which start from the cottage door. The quiet roads are also superb for cyclists.

The unspoilt nature of the area is ideal for a variety of wildlife species to thrive. In the countryside surrounding the cottage you can spot red squirrels, roe deer, buzzards and red kites. We are close to the Dark Skies Galloway Forest Park and therefore the cottage is ideally located for star gazing. There are plenty of nature reserves in the area too, the Wildlife and Wetland Trust at Caerlaverock and RSPB Mersehead are close by. Esk Rigg at Lockerbie is the best place to be guaranteed to see red squirrels and the Red Kite Trail at Laurieston, wh...
