Pencwm is a self catering cottage in beautiful secluded grounds sleeping up to twelve plus cots, although also cosy enough for smaller parties to feel comfortable all the year round. It is a perfect holiday destination for short breaks, longer escapes, family and friends’ gatherings, and special occasions. Pencwm is also extremely child friendly and children of all ages love the freedom to play and explore within the large mature gardens and paddocks. Pencwm has a 4-star rating from Visit Wales. There are six bedrooms, one of which is a twin bedded room on the ground floor. There is a cloakroom with large basin and wc downstairs, and two further bathrooms upstairs, one with shower, basin and wc, the other with bath with shower over, basin and wc. There is a cloakroom with large basin and wc downstairs, and two further bathrooms upstairs, one with shower, basin and wc, the other with bath with shower over, basin and wc. All the upstairs bedrooms have views onto the surrounding countryside with the Preselis in the distance. The well equipped kitchen is the heart of the farmhouse with an oil fired AGA providing warmth and superb cooking facilities, and a dining table to seat twelve. There is a walk-in larder, wooden fitted units, plus fridge freezer, microwave / multi oven, dishwasher, small TV / DVD, ipod and dartboard! The washing machine / dryer is in the downstairs cloakroom. The open-beamed living room has comfy sofas, an open fire, a TV / DVD, ipod and video player, games, DVDs and videos, and well-lined bookshelves opening up into a south-facing conservatory with an established grapevine. The property has full oil fired central heating and oil, electricity, and coal and wood for the open fire are included in the price. We also provide all bed-linen and towels, apart from towels for the beach. WiFi internet access is available. Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement . The garden is large and securely fenced, and has swings and a slide, a patio with garden furniture, a barbecue and badminton net, and large paddling pool for adults and children. There are tree rope swings for children and adults in the fields. Donkeys, dogs and cats are kept by the owner who lives in the original stone Welsh longhouse on the other side of the farmyard. We have eight acres of hay meadows and a three acre water meadow for you to roam and enjoy together with a woodland garden containing a pond and a variety of native and planted flowers, shrubs and trees. A shallow stream runs through the yard where we have an original welsh longhouse and a stable block with loft. There is ample car parking space and we are happy to accommodate a touring caravan or motorhome for larger parties and can supply electrical hook-up for £20 a night. By prior arrangement we can also accommodate a tent in the garden for £15 per person per night. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement. We charge £20 per dog per week and we normally levy a £50 deposit on arrival which is refunded in full providing that the house is left clean and undamaged The village of Crymych, five miles away has every shop you need, including a bakery, butcher selling locally produced meat, wholefood shop, chemist and newsagent. Two local pubs are within three miles and there are excellent Chinese, Indian and fish and chips takeaways within a few miles. Hot tubs are available to hire locally.
