About the neighbourhood
Convalle is a small friendly village in the Commune of Pescaglia, an area just to the south of the Alpi Apuane. It is set on a steep sided hill from which there are views up and down the valley. There are wonderful walks around Convalle, through neighbouring woods and villages to the nearby peaks of the Park. There is plenty of wildlife to see including deer and wildboar. Despite being c. 400m up and feeling remote there are some very reasonable little restaurants nearby including 'La Fonte' in Trebbio which is within easy walking distance. Lucca is 20 minutes away by car, Viareggio on the coast 40mins away and Florence about an hour away. Likewise Cinque Terra on the Ligurian coast is about an hour's drive.
