Cussac is a tiny hamlet set in the Perigord noir,our house is a three storey stone build former presbytery, set in one and a half hecters of meadow, woods with pine and red oak trees and gardens surrounding a private salt water pool, commanding great views.Linen curtains filter peaceful garden views from this fine old stone presbytery. It’s by the Romanesque church of tiny Cussac in rolling Dordogne countryside – 35 minutes from Bergerac airport.Elegantly proportioned rooms have tall windows, wooden floors and mostly traditional French furniture; modernity in kitchen and bathrooms. The house and large garden gave us a peaceful, private and picturesque location to base our holiday. Particularly enjoyed visiting Josephine Baker's Chateau des Milandes, but lots of interesting places to visit locally, and quiet walks to enjoy. Have been twice, and would happily stay...More

We had a wonderful visit to this lovely property. Very well maintained with the added bonus of comfortable beds and beautiful linen. Walking in the quiet countryside, visiting the bustling local markets, sightseeing or just sitting by the pool made for the perfect holiday.

My 2nd stay here , this time in September with 4 other family members ages 60-85 . A fantastic place , very peaceful surrounded by beautiful countryside but accessible to good places to eat out and local markets . The accommodation met all our needs...More

The Dordogne offers amazing chateaux castles historic abbeys, cave paintings and many great restaurants just on our doorstep.Canoeing ,golf, horse riding cycling and beautiful walks and a water sports centre in Tremolat. The Unesco heritage site of Cadouin is a 40 minuet walk away through rolling countryside, collecting cool drinking water from the natural spring en route, The local markets are a must ,Sunday in St Cyprian and Friday Le Buisson . Visit Bergerac for their brocants

A car is a necessity there is a train station in le Buisson 5 km away take a train to Bordeaux or Sarlat perhaps. Cycles can be hired or even take a balloon ride over the valley.
