About the neighbourhood
There is a lot of architecture, shopping and culture. There are many possibilities for boat trips and canoeing. Along the river there are many castles worth visiting such as Château des Milandes (where Josephine Baker used to live), Beynac and Castelnaud. The Vézère valley, world famous for its prehistoric sites and caves such as Lascaux..in summer there are historical and musical events (jazz, pop and classical music and dance) as well as wine festivals in and around Duras. There are also evening markets organized in various towns and villages around Duras offering you plenty of food and wine. In and around Duras you can find good restaurants and cosy bars, having live music at regular times. Many wine chateaux invite you for free wine tasting
