Lovely Gite in the quiet and peaceful village of Fuilla. Exploring the lower parts of the Canigou Massif was fantastic. Really enjoyed a relaxing break, views all around were beautiful. Penny's suggestions on walks were great and helped us explore this magnificent region.

About the neighbourhood
Fuilla is a very peaceful but typical village of the region. Its situated in a open valley surrounded by mountains over looked by the Le Canigou. It benefits from being located so close to the Canigou mountain giving walkers and cyclists a great starting point for some fantastic tours. So why not give it a go and walk to Pic du Canigou! The house is a short drive (4 km) from the recently nominated UNESCO world heritage site of Villefranche-de-Conflent. A grocery store can be found in the nearby village of Sahorre, which is easy walk or bike ride (available on site), so it’s easy to forget about the car for a few days, relax and unwind. Easy access to the main road between Perpignan and Andorra ensures that the area can be explored.
Getting around
The nearest town Prades, just a few kilometres away. A thriving market town, with shops and restaurants as well as a lively market on both Tuesday and Saturday mornings, where you can buy local produce such as the peaches and cherries that are grown in abundance here, fresh vegetables, wonderful cheeses…. and of course the excellent wine! There are events and festivals throughout the year. Spanish cellist Pablo Casals fled to Prades during the Spanish civil war, stayed and established the festival that now bears his name. The Catalan summer school takes over the town for two weeks in August, and there is dancing in the square every night during this period. Just a few of the MUST SEE within easy driving (or walking) distance are
