A lovely break
A lovely cottage with great scenery. It was very well appointed and comfortable. The views were great with lots to see and do. We were sad to leave but would certainly stay here again.

Brilliant views and a thoughtfully presented property
We were very pleasantly surprised by this well appointed stable conversion With beautiful elevated views of Lough Foyle and Magilligan, the garden is well maintained. The property is spacious, modern and clean. Gregory, the owner, was attentive without being intrusive and ensured that our stay was seamless. Highly recommended.

Lovely cottage, great views!
The perfect location for hikes, shore walks or a base to explore Donegal and Northern Ireland. The cottage is well equipped and leaves nothing to be desired. Very cozy and in a wonderful location with sea views. Gregory (landlord) is very courteous and helpful and was very concerned about our well-being (we were on holiday with our 1-year-old daughter). Definitely recommended!

Superbly situated comfortable cottage.
The accommodation is located in an excellent position with wonderful views over Lough Foyle to the hills beyond. Very peaceful with a good nights sleep guaranteed! The cottage is very well equipped and comfortably furnished, lacking nothing. The area / peninsula is picturesque with plenty of places of interest and walking on quiet roads and tracks. Gregory, the owner, is very supportive and helpful.

Much delayed visit
We had booked The Old Stable for a break back in 2020, but due to travel restrictions etc this was pushed back to August 2021. The owner was brilliant and arranged this directly to ensure we got a slot in amongst bookings. Finding the property was very easy, only 30km from the border at Culmore/Muff. There were 2 beaches including 1 Blue Flag, within walking distance. The house was fully equipped and comfortable and with the house next door being vacant, we had the whole grounds to ourselves. The best feature, apart from the seclusion, privacy, views and location? The neighbour's Border Collie sought us out when she smelt the bacon cooking. Absolutely great spot

Cosy cottage in great location
We did a four night break in this well equipped cottage that has everything needed for a relaxed short break for two people. Everything ( cooker/microwave/dishwasher/TV etc) worked! The cottage was centrally heated and warm - the log burner was an added bonus and contributed to the cosyness. A supply of bags of turf were left for our use. The picnic tables outside were perfect for morning coffee and a great place to enjoy the wonderful views over Lough Foyle. We thought the location was perfect for exploring the Inishowen peninsula, with its beautiful bays, beaches and walks - and it was a 10 minute drive to good restaurants. Gregory (owner) was very attentive and we appreciated the "show around" by his dad. Definitely recommend!

Perfection
Just back from 4 nights in this near enough to perfect as possible cottage. So many places fail to live up to their hype and cleverly shot photographs, this one is understated. There is personal contact with the owners from the outset and throughout and a face to face greeting and introduction from the owner's friendly father. The cottage is secluded down a lane off a quiet road into Shroove, in its own large, mature and very private garden. The building is attractive and well maintained and from it you are met with a magnificent view over Lough Foyle to Magilligan. The cottage is comfortably furnished and immaculate, also well equipped with all the basics including cleaning materials and huge stocks of fuel for the turf burner. Good sized ensuite with well functioning shower, very comfortable bed. A well located, good base from which to tour the Innishowen and Fanad peninsulas and further afield. As a bonus we were lucky with the weather, but even had this not been the case we would have been happy to spend more time in the cottage and it was lovely to return there each evening. We are more than happy to recommend this cottage and will definitely be returning ourselves. Janette and Paul. Donaghadee, N. Ireland.

Beautiful cottage - fantastic view
We had a fantastic stay at The Old Stable. Everything was so easy from enquiry to check out. The cottage was just what we were looking for and was perfect (even when the weather wasn't) thanks to the peat stove! Being one of the first visitors since reopening after covid-19 lockdown, we were a little concerned about staying somewhere which was not home but these concerns were quickly removed when we saw how clean & tidy everything was & that we were provided with hand sanitiser, surface spray & anti-bac wipes in the kitchen. Yvetta, who cleans the property, was lovely - very friendly & helpful. Gregory was only ever a text/phone call away and was very accommodating & pleasant to chat to. The cottage is well situated with lovely walks through the countryside & to beautiful beaches right on the doorstep. The local, newly opened chip shop in Greencastle is highly recommended as is Tank & Skinny's Coffee Shop in Muff & Buncrana. A car is definitely recommended but we hope to return very soon (with walking boots) to see the beautiful Inishowen Peninsula in better weather.

Beautiful cottage
Such a beautiful renovation with its amazing views of Lough Foyle, we did not want to leave ! Perfect location for touring the Innishowen Peninsula, but also, if the ferry is running, just a quick trip across to Northern Ireland and the Giant's Causeway area and Bushmills. The cottage is perfectly clean and feels like home as soon as you walk in the door ! We hope to return one day. A good road from Greencastle through Derry to Belfast so perfect for those returning a rental car and flying out of the City airport.
